Quick update.

I had a look at a very nice F Pace 30d Sport yesterday, booked for a test drive next Tuesday and if it drives as well as I hope then I'll be buying it.

Lovely interior, apart from the door pockets which are absolutely ste. biggrin

Thanks, I had some great help from a friend who works for Jaguar in the UK, I'd give him the VIN number and he'd give me the entire history of the car, he'd even 'PING' it, whatever that means biggrin

Settled on this 300d Sport, it's a lovely thing and was more or less a straight swap for the S6, but with a warranty, new MOT, new tyres, and 30,000kms less on the clock. thumbup

Thought I'd give everyone a quick update here, as I'm quite surprised.

1500km into the F-Pace.

I had always wondered why people say that Audi handling is uninvolved, boring, and a bit crap. As having had 4 x A6 bodied cars I found it to be fine.

This thing is so much more fun, even though it's a bit like driving a house, I can drive it like I just stole it! The cornering is epic, the steering feel is fabulous.
I'm very impressed!

It'll probably be ruined later today when the winter tyres are fitted but that will just make me look forward to putting the summers back on.

One bad thing though, I thought it would turn me into an old man driver and I'd get less speeding tickets. I can't see that happening now, probably the opposite if I'm honest. biggrin

How did you rate the S6? I'm seriously thinking about a newish S6 Avant 3 litre tdi

I loved it, I've previously had two A6's, then an A6 Competition (which in essence had the same engine as the S6), and then the S6 - 2020. It really was the perfect car, enough grunt, very comfortable and very economical - it averaged 8 liter per 100km in my ownership, whatever that is in mpg?
I would always recommend one.

However, it was basically so perfect that it lacked any character if that makes any sense? That was one of the reasons I changed it for the Jaguar, as that has bags of character and makes me smile.

Got the winter boots fitted on Friday and I think I chose well, as it made me smile again. biggrin
