Just signed up for a new car for the wife, to replace her MX5.

SLK AMG 250D Tipto, on 6+23 for £240.60 per month including vat.
10K per annum, which she will never do.

I paid not much less for her 182 Clio cup pack, back in 2004. It makes you wonder.

Diesel sports car always makes me sad, but that looks like a good deal

Edited by blueg33 on Tuesday 9th December 13:05
Yup,
but muggins here is going to have to thrash it along the motorway once a month to keep the DPF from clogging up.

It will be lucky if it does 4k miles a year. there was no discount on cheaper miles, so 10k it is.

Crying out for a great deal on the Fez ST3. I'm waiting for the right time to commit.
Gateway2Lease have them on a 6+23 for 179.99/month for personal lease, though that's only 8,000 miles I think. I don't think that's unreasonable value smile

Looks like they have filled their order quota. frown

I got the deal emailed to me, from when I was looking for the Audi earlier this year - so its worth going on a few mail lists.

I too ordered one through the same company about 6 to 8 weeks ago - I did post all the details on here including the company name in case anyone else wanted to go for the same thing.
I went for factory order and is due to land at the dealer in the first week in January.
It was without a doubt the cheapest SLK deal around at the moment, far cheaper than Mercedes corporate direct.

This will be my second 250 diesel SLK - I too agree with the comments about diesel sports cars and when they first introduced diesel convertible I thought it was the most ridiculous thing. As it happens it really is a good car to drive as a daily driver, very nippy, are not powerful your average daily driving around. I'm lucky, it's not my only car I have 2 other cars (both V8's) in the garage when I really want something interesting to drive so I'm happy to put up with it based on incredibly cheap monthly payments.

I had one secured at 15k miles for £230 a month all in I believe just to give you an idea of rates. Never went for it in the end but that was roughly the deal.

Thanks chaps. I've been informed by 2 pals who have got some great deals that circa 260 p/m over 3 years for a ford options plan is fairly decent.. There is some equity in my car and the usual "if you get it now there is a dealer deposit on top of £750".....

wish me luck! My own car is currently being repaired after a driver ran into the side of us in traffic.. Going the wrong way down the street biggrin... Sake.

As stated on the previous page the prices have now gone up except i have the option of a £165 a month on the ST-2 for a few days due to when the quote was done.

ST-3's are more than the new higher priced ST-2's so more than i want to pay.

I asked for a quote from there (phoned them) but they never got back to me via email with said quote hence they wont get my business.

I've noticed places can seem cheap but by the time you add on metallic paint, style pack (G2L quoting £10 a month extra for this for example) and i'm after 10k pa it all adds up to be quite a bit more than you first thought!

Decent price though for someone if it stacks up, i'm happy with ST-2 at £165 + metallic + style pack and no admin fee.

Whats peoples thoughts and experiences with getting a lease and asking to wait a little longer to get the next plate (eg '15' plate). The ST-2 stock according to Rivervale is due back end of Jan currently but i wonder if they can wait till 1st March....i know from a resale point of view the end user shouldnt be bothered but nevertheless my wife is asking as she will be using it most of the time!

May have been asked before - but what are the best (say top 5 or 10) lease websites / companies to check with on a regular basis?

Might be good to get comments and referrals from PH folk who have used them too...

I generally check the following (although I am sure other people look elsewhere):

Central Leasing (http://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/)
Gateway 2 Lease (http://www.gateway2lease.com/)
Leasing Options (https://www.leasingoptions.uk/)
Lings (http://www.lingscars.com/) - generally slightly more expensive than the above but the Top 20 shows useful offer trends, I find. Sunglasses advised.
Tilsun Group - (http://www.tilsungroup.com/)
Fleet Prices - (http://www.fleetprices.co.uk/)

As an aside, could someone PLEASE stop whoever is putting all this LeaseAid spam crap on the thread before I go nuts?!

Anyone got any particular experience with different GAP insurance companies?

I've got my SLK arriving in early January on a two-year lease deal, I think I would be silly not to run a GAP Policy, I have one on my last lease but never made a claim.
Not planning on taking out the one the lease company offering me, they are asking £300, I've done a quick Google search and looks like I should really be paying somewhere just over £100 with £15,000 worth of cover based on a £38,000 car.

Would be grateful if anyone could give me any experience or any particular companies to avoid - and of course why.

Thank you.

Someone posted this deal earlier - http://www.fleetprices.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/b...

Don't know how genuine the deal is but only 3 months down and no document fee - anyone used them?
