If you are being sensible, the target value, if you just really want the car and need to convince yourself it's the deal of the century, p11d biggrin

It’s a tough one because besides cash you need to calculate the costs in financing the money.

Not many would take a £37,000 bank loan for a car, unless it’s really special. Even then it’s going to cost you probably £2500 in interest

Or pcp this is going to cost small fortune more in most cases and 9/10 not financially viable compared to a good lease.

Or

Hp again will cost you more in terms interest paid overall

Or cash, would be stupid. Unless ultra desirable or future classic. Cash better on the hip or invested somewhere else

you don't finance the full price of the car in a PCP, for one thing.

Yes you certainly do, well minus your deposit. Unless you mean the price in which you can negotiate the actual car for, then yes you may have a reduced price in which you pay compared to cash etc

But you’ll make up for it with the interest you pay

Minus the deposit yes. Considering many PCPs have giant deposits it’s worth stating.

For me leasing isn't about a car which is ph worthy. Those cars are for the rich or you buy second hand.

I lease as I want a new car every 2 years, no hassle, no dents/scratches etc, no surprise costs and all the other cons you get with second hand cars.

If your patient and arent fussy on brand you can get a great deal, unfortunately they dont come up that often.

I managed to get one of the d5 s90 volvo 2 years ago, r design sitting on 21inch wheels in metallic blue. Fantastic car and gets loads of positive comments from people who cant beleive it's a volvo. In fact I prefer it my my 335d BMW I have before. And for 329 a month a bargain and ph worthy.

If you dont like leasing find another part of the forum to troll.

Just seen this posted on LinkedIn - might be of interest to someone?

I have the Volvo S90 T4 Momentum Plus Auto in a choice of metallic paint and with charcoal interior on personal contract hire from £237.44 inc vat a month*, 3 months initial payment with 8,000 miles per annum. We have limited stock so take advantage of this insanely low price while you can!
For more details and a personalised quotation, please get in touch Rebecca.wanstall@lipscomb.co.uk
If that is genuine it is a ridiculously good price !!
I am leasing my current Volvo from Beckie at Lipscomb, they are a genuine Volvo dealership who do competitive lease quotes, so I’m sure this is for real.
I enquired on this. I think the price may be based on 3+48 or 3+36 because when I asked for a 3+24 it went up to £278/ month which still isnt bad. Only one car was still in stock on Friday.
Only one left as I FTK'd on the other! Had enough of looking and felt this was a decent deal. Thanks rich_miller...

The price of £237 didn't include the cost of metallic paint so hits £278 on a 3+23 basis for 8,000 miles with the excess mileage cost looking quite cheap. For 10k miles I calculate it would cost £309 per month on average / amortised (if using the excess miles cost to go up to 10,000). Takes the total for 24 months to £7,416.

Using WhatCar Target Price - RRP range of £34,500 - £37,800 I get between 21.5% and 19.6% over 2 years.
Glad you’re sorted!
I enquired about deal too and £237 was for 3+35 deal which is still a really good deal. Almost went for it but went for the Alfa deal instead. They had 2 left when I called on Friday so probably gone now but worth a try.

Cash price is 24k after tax and registration.
Blimey that's a big reduction on the new price. How do they manage that? I can't go against my principles and buy one, can I?

Do you think these will filter into a leasing offer?
