To celebrate another clean pass on the MOT I treated the S80 to a wheel refurb - they were looking very much 21 years old and even intensive cleaning couldn’t really smarten them up sufficiently.

I know bolidemichael likes a ‘comfy tyre’ shot:

Teasing us with just the one…

Very proper. Always liked that colour too.

The thing that stands out on that Mercedes is the length of the aerial, you could probably poke a giraffe in the eye with that thing, it looks like it probably ends somewhere approaching the moon. I had forgotten just how long these things used to be.

Very proper. Always liked that colour too.

That C280 seems like a very sensible motor.

Crikey, just goes to show where the market is. I wonder if the seller will back out and we'll see it relisted?

There's a nice Avus blue 728i I've had an eye on, price was pushing £7k, now £6k, 150k miles but looks very well cared for, but £6k seems way too steep still, can't see anyone offering over £3500 for it to be honest, £4k at a push. A few months ago I was in the position to purchase (spending £5k on some windows and having a month off work on SSP with a broken ankle has ended that) I sent the seller a message, very nice chap, but it also has a battery drain issue which means it can't stand for more than about a week.

Still a ten-footer but does scrub up well:

The C280 posted by W00DY is nice. Although I had one about 20 years ago I never really bonded with it coming from a 190E. Now however I think they’re a really good proposition and very much a ‘proper’ Merc.

Seems very cheap. I very much doubt the seller will accept that, perhaps them wanting £17.5 put people off bothering to bid.

I won an auction for a W212 e-class back in 2019 which came in at 6k and the guy wouldn't let it go. Not sure what the penalty is for refusing to honour an auction on ebay.

Hopefully something, at least the minimum of paying the ebay fees, but yeah, bit st of the buyer. If you aren't willing to to let it go for a certain price then set a reserve. I wonder what'll happen to it.
