Happened to be browsing Central UK earlier and saw the DSG Arteons on 2 years, 5k p/a, £2400 down plus around £175 for the Elegance and £185 for the R Line. Could probably be had cheaper elsewhere

ETA: All inc VAT

Thanks. I think I came across that one before, just so painful using these sites biggrin I make that £6655 over the term.

Has anyone come across anything better? They aren't bothered about engine. Something with a "Premium" badge. Preferably mid size saloon or smaller (mums used to a Golf type hatch's, but has been persuaded now to be flexible), but for right deal would consider something bigger. The Arteon and 4GC deals interested them as the base spec was very good. So something with great standard equipment.

Edit: Actually this is where i'd seen that Arteon Deal, which is a bit more expensive at £191: https://www.nationalvehiclesolutions.co.uk/Volkswa...

Also came across this deal for an S4 at the same site, not sure if any good, but thought i'd share as seen people asking for SX Audi deals on here:

mine was delivered, well driven, guy drove it from VW poole to my house, about 100 odd miles was on it when I got in.

Paperwork was signed that it arrived with 100 odd miles so these are not included in your mileage.

Not many. There isn't enough discount available over a 'retail' deal which is why lease deals make sense. The only way to try and guard yourself over depreciation would be to take out a PCP deal
Thanks. Found quite a few options since posting. Thought it would be the case but staying well clear ... actually found one place advertising "PCP Car leasing" ... in case people weren't confused enough!

Is there a limit to delivery mileage for lease cars?

I'm just off the phone to select and the girl said the car will probably be driven from Walton audi to my place in Glasgow, over 400 miles!

Is that normal or has she got her wires crossed? If not I'm sure my new shiny bumper will be littered with stonechips.
When I got my A4 a guy drove it from Crewe to Aberdeen then got the train home. He stopped and washed it before handing it over too
Brilliant, swirl marks and stonechips before I've driven it!

I'm not overly bothered it just threw me a bit as I've never leased before so didn't know what to expect.
Who cares? It's a rental car, drive it as such as you don't own it and never will.

It's not my car so I don't really give a toss about how it looks! laugh

I would care. Call me picky. I take care of things. I don't treat other peoples property differently to my own. Maybe even better.

Mine was delivered from Manchester to Bathgate, early morning run up the road in June and it arrived absolutely plastered with flies! I dropped the guy at the station and took the car home for a wash. He was apologetic but hadn't passed a garage where he could clean them off near mine (truth based on where the sat nav would have taken him).

I’ve little to no option but to go down to collect mine at Warrington and drive it myself all the way back to Glasgow. They are wanting £1.50+ VAT per mile to have it delivered. Which is of course ridiculous... Close to £450 to have it delivered up north.

OT- VWFS excess mileage rates were discussed recently with some saying they were quoted the contracted 6p+Vat(7.2ppm). My additional 20k miles quote has just come through at 4.8+Vat 5.76ppm which beats 7.2 and even with a £60 admin fee is worth it. The vehicle is a Tiguan R line
That's good. I do 18k a year, but signed up for an Arteon on a 10k pa deal, as the quote for 18k pa worked out more than if I paid the difference at the excess 10.8p per mile rate. If I can get a deal like you've managed I'll be very happy.

Assuming you have contracted with VWFS? if the lease is with someone else they might have different rates, no?

That is ridiculous, you could use something like Shiply to organise delivery yourself - would be half that price. Saying that though, when I got my Cupra the trip up to Leeds and the drive home to Berkshire was all part of the fun - I could have had it delivered but chose to go and get it.

I tend to look after stuff I have even if strictly speaking I don't own it.

It will be well kept.

But you didn't put the swirl marks there - the owner did. I wouldn't be going out of my way to fix stuff they've caused themselves.

For the record there were no swirl marks in my car when I got it. Probably loads now though tongue out

Just tell them not to prep it - thats what i always do. Arrives filthy with bits of cardboard still stuck on etc but better than swirl city. It might be a rental car but I still like it to look its best regardless. Car dealers used to think it weird to ask for no cleaning etc but its more common now.

For those wondering, the ricidulous transport costs are for one of the Cupra deals from IMG Warrington. I understand that part of the fun is the driving it back yourself but it requires time off work a volunteer to drive you and it’s the best part of 7/8 hours out the day you’re having to ask someone for. I’d have paid the transport had it not been so ludacris.

Spoke to Central UK. ~12 week lead time for the Arteon. Also asked about HUD (on the current car so will miss it), depreciates to pennies over term as expected frown

Can you not catch a train? I know usually tickets cost a kidney, but on a one off booked well in advance and a few days flexibility they can be quite cheap.

Also not sure where you're coming from, but if its from the south you could make it a weekend break as the Peak District isn't a big detour.

I’m coming from Glasgow for it. I can’t book anything as I can’t even an email reply as to an expected delivery date. It’ll be December some time and in my line of work time off in December is a non starter.
I’m sure it’ll work out come collection time. Was just a little disappointed in the cost of transport. It is what it is I guess.
