Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 4)
Discussion
Collecting car in person may sounds like fun but it takes time. It took me 6h to drive to Liverpool, overnight stay and another couple of hours back in new car. It rained on boths days, so no fun really. I thought it would be nice day out but it wasn't. Public transport would require 2 or 3 changes so just drove my existing car, dropped it at the dealer for BCA to collect it from there, and took a new one. Had to buy temporary insurance for the car I was dropping off, as dealer wouldn't take it under its insurance. Still hope no damage or extra miles were added to it, as I haven't heard anything back from VWFS yet. Took picture of the dash when I dropped it off, to keep proof of the mileage.

I’m coming from Glasgow for it. I can’t book anything as I can’t even an email reply as to an expected delivery date. It’ll be December some time and in my line of work time off in December is a non starter.
I’m sure it’ll work out come collection time. Was just a little disappointed in the cost of transport. It is what it is I guess.
Not great position to be in, I understand. In fact one of the reasons that puts me off the 2 year lease cycle, as whilst like everyone I enjoy new cars, all the associated faffing around every two years isn't very appealing. If it wasn't for the fact tyres/servicing/etc make the two year leases more economical would happily take a 3 or 4 year lease.I’m sure it’ll work out come collection time. Was just a little disappointed in the cost of transport. It is what it is I guess.

We have a Merc which is due back late January 2018, so have started looking for replacement. the Misses really wants a Volvo XC90 but also trying to keep the monthlies to as close to £300 + Vat as possible....
2 questions -
1) Any great XC90 deals around at the moment - 10,000pa miles at least
2) We will be away throughout Dec and early Jan do I try and find something now to come end of Jan 18 or hold out until we get back and risk having some time with no family car??
Any thoughts??
Cheers Dai

I'd start looking now, More often than not you're looking at 12-14 weeks delivery time for a non-stock car and delays aren't uncommon. I ordered mine early February factory order and only got it early June.We have a Merc which is due back late January 2018, so have started looking for replacement. the Misses really wants a Volvo XC90 but also trying to keep the monthlies to as close to £300 + Vat as possible....

Has been possible at 9+23 10k in the past. Some deals I bookmarked in Sept have got more expensive. This is comparable:1) Any great XC90 deals around at the moment - 10,000pa miles at least

I'd be aiming to get it locked in now. Move quickly on the above if I were you. Or you're not getting an XC90 without deep pockets Audi S8 for 9+23 @ £540 per month for 10k miles per annum plus admin fee £240 = £17,519. Not at good as past deals but circa 21%.

4th October 2016 - An important communication from VWFS
We’re changing the rates we charge for excess mileage on PCP and contract hire agreements
Our excess mileage charges for new and used car quotations on Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) agreements and contract hire will change on Tuesday 4 October.
We are adjusting the rates to better reflect the vehicle’s depreciation as mileage changes. Rates will be based on engine fuel type, brand and more relevant engine size categories. You can download a list of the new rates below.
We have not reviewed our charges for a number of years, meaning they are no longer suited to the market, and do not accurately reflect the depreciation that occurs as mileage increases.
All existing saved customer quotes or proposals with a valid proposal number entered in Connect Online up to close of business on Monday 3 October will retain the current rates. Make sure you save quotes and proposals to retain the existing rates.
All new quotes and proposals entered in Connect OnLine from Tuesday 4 October will have the new excess mileage rates applied.

Didn't VWFS propose it a year ago or so? Remember seeing chart in one of the threads. For example for cars with 4.0l engine it was 41 or 43p per mile. So don't take the above Audi S8 deal and count on cheap excess miles ;-)
Yep, spot on. October 2016 (in the paste above) "latest news" makes it sound more recent but it's old news Edited by MrOnTheRopes on Monday 9th October 17:22

hardly difficult to get from Glasgow to Warrington by train. If you cannot get a day of work then there are weekends or you will just have to pay. Seems like you are griping about your circumstances, hardly the dealers fault.
Many dealers use their Fleet division which is not open on weekends.xxdaix said:

I'm expecting it to be 10-12 weeks, which suits me fine.
I chose white, this added £13 to the payment. Unsure about Urano Grey. White looks good on these photos IMO https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/volkswagen/ar...
Were there any pre-ordered/stock options? Or was it essentially all factory order?I chose white, this added £13 to the payment. Unsure about Urano Grey. White looks good on these photos IMO https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/volkswagen/ar...
Also car does look good in white in those pics. Apart from the profile pic against the grass verge where it looks awful :/
Not sure if it’s just a bad picture. Or if white shows up the shut lines/etc. Looks really busy, with huge mid riff and small squaty front and back end in that pic.
First bad picture I’ve seen of the car.

I have a new job which gives me £485 per month with maintenance, 3 years 80K. No 2 doors or 2 seaters. However we have 3 teenage boys so decent leg room and big boot are a most. Just trying to get an idea of what it gets me in, I will be getting a link to the lease company price list but I'm inpatient.
Ideal size would be a long the lines of A6 Avant but not sure if that is achievable in budget but open to suggestions.
Do have an option to contribute more myself but would rather not.
