I was still driving a VW Golf GT with full leather when my missus was pregnant 2 years ago. Labour day came and on the way to the hospital, her water broke in my car. Let's just say I was well pleased to have leather seats... ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Anyways, I've been running a Golf GTD with the tartan fabric and despite the baby pukes when my wee boy was a baby and all the dirty shoes and bits of biscuits etc in the car, it still looks spotless so I couldn't say leather is an absolute must with kids.
Edit: Oh and congrats mate! Good (and hard) times ahead!
Cheers!![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Me too. I test drove it and I strongly advise better use of the gear stick if turbo lag is an issue. I could happily live with that engine in this car, it's pretty light.
Exactly why I would recommend a decent test drive, some will not see it as an issue, some will. I certainly wouldn't have another A4 with this engine. It just doesn't suit a car of this size, maybe the auto is better.

We use plastic seat covers. Goes under child seat. This kind of thing: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CNAICTU?psc=1
Thanks, I have considered something like that, but the back seats in the 6GC aren't the conventional bench style. Means the cover wouldn't sit as well and probably have quite a few gaps. Also I have no idea how it gets all over the back, but I'd probably need one of those covers for each seat. Currently using a couple of towels, which also help with the mop up. Or mum sits at the back with a bucket ready and I look like a cab driver (good thing I didn't buy a 7 series or S Class ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
I'm hesitant to jinx myself, but she seems to be getting better. And at 2 & 1/2 she can start to hold the bucket now

10k, 3+23 for £188pm
Have gone for this, probably going to add the comfort and sound pack for B&O sound

It was the SE, though was a mistake that I could attempt 1+23.

The price is too low apparently and the audi system wont let it go through on a 1+23!!10k, 3+23 for £188pm

Im tempted by this or the s line for £16 more - few nicer comforts in it.

I think weight is the more relevant metric and at 1370kgs the current A4 is pretty light.
I'm going by my experience of over 20,000 miles in one. Not copying stats from google !
It might not work for you but for my use it's near perfect, engine wise.

Thank you. To be honest, I'm now in a queue to get my S3 mid-December, and I'd imagine lead time on the S4 will be longer than that which wouldn't be ideal. Plus I've also got the S3 deal down to £9K total over the two years, and have consoled myself that this is enough of a saving to make do with a 4-pot rather than the 6! ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Can you pm me with the deal that you managed to get on the S3? (Or post here)![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Been offered a standard S3 Sportback S-Tronic with 8k miles for £306pm and £2400 deposit - Total £9438
Thanks.

Not sure who is copying stats from Google but that weight might explain why this engine felt fine in such a light car for its size when I drove it. Not quite 20k miles but plenty enough to assess it. I don't need to track it.

Glad to hear it works for you, like I said earlier some will find it an issue and some won't as is evidenced by many contradictory posts in this thread. It might not work for you but for my use it's near perfect, engine wise.
