I posted this a while back.. Just to provide an update.

I didn't accept the last quote and gave Audi a call again this week to see if they can quote something better based on the Q4 residuals.
Anyways quote will be with me within a couple of weeks.

What the gentleman on the phone did say is that I can continue the lease for up to 3 months on a rolling basis, for the same price p/m (or possibly the amortised price.. not sure), with pro rata mileage. Without a formal extension.

Just advised me to give them a call in the last month to let them know.

Gives some scope of movement when expecting a replacement vehicle.

I have an Audi A4 1.4tsi saloon, which was a fantastic deal offered early 2016.

Coming up to 16 months now, Mrs likes the car and for the price I pay, I considered extending the lease for a further 12 months.

Current deal:
£160 on 6 + 23 = £4640 on 10k per annum.
Amortised = £193.

Lease finishes in April 2018, so asked Audi for a formal 12 month extension quote.

Keeping the same 10k per annum mileage, the 12 month extension will be charged at £271 per month, a fair bit more than I was expecting.

Was hoping for something around the amortised £190 mark, but would have been willing to push up to £220 or so to save the hassle of looking for a new car.

But at £270, it comes to 12% of the value. Considering 20% is good for 2 years, 12% for 1 when the car is already 2 years old isn't that great.

Might ask for a re-quote in a few months, however as of now I'll be looking to return.

May be useful info for a few on here who got the same deal.

Hi, Long time lurker first time poster. I have an A4 1.4TFSI Sport Saloon from the 2016 deals and my opinion is that although the car is a competent motorway mile muncher I have never enjoyed driving it. It's never put a smile on my face, so if all you are looking for is an inexpensive workhorse with a reasonably decent sized boot, it'll do the job.

Could I please ask rich_7miller, would you mind sharing details for your contact on the Arteon R-Line deal please? I'm also thinking of ordering one of these for when the Audi goes back.

I havnt driven it much, it's the mrs' daily driver.

Having personally gone from a 125d to a Golf R, I would say the A4 is not a very involved drive, so if you are after a nice driving experience it's not for you.

However it's a nice and comfortable l place to be, lots of kit and big enough for a pram and child and well worth it for the price.

Hi I have the 1.4 sport and I think its great - its not a sports car but I have done almost 30000 miles in it now - I get at worst 42mpg and at best 60 mpg average to date is around 47mpg

I think the engine is amazing for the size of the car.

I would have another one and would go for the 1.4 again unless the 2.0 d is cheaper or about the same. - Its all about the deal for me

I agree my wife has it but once out of 2nd gear it is fine. You just need to learn how to drive it.

It has been geared for cruising on motorways but would not stop me getting another 1.4 or the new 1.5 bag engined cars.

Remember the A4 is a large motor and this 1.4 pulls it along nicely but not as quick as the s4

I've done 15k miles now in my leased 1.4 A4 and also think it's fine. It takes a little while to get used to how to drive it and this does mean changing gear more often than in a more powerful or diesel car but it is quiet, smooth economical and comfortable. If it's at a decent price I would definitely recommend one.

I went for a 2 litre tdi (187bhp) diesel A4 Avant and probably shouldn't have bothered spending the extra over the 1.4 engine cars - my fuel economy is not much better than that mentioned above. I would recommend the comfort suspension, however. It'll never be a sports car, so might as well make it comfy.

It goes back at the end of June - how early can you order a car? I was thinking of February, but some of these longer lead time builds (did somebody say 22 weeks for an Octavia VRs?) make me think I should get my name down before Xmas.

Can you pm me with the deal that you managed to get on the S3? (Or post here)

Been offered a standard S3 Sportback S-Tronic with 8k miles for £306pm and £2400 deposit - Total £9438

Thanks.
Yeah, was Josh Mills at Motorlet, but the deals he was working on at the time have changed. I have no doubt he will do what he can for you, but not sure the level of deal that's now available.

£1,041 + 23 x £347 = £9,026. 10K miles. S3 Black Edition Sportback S-Tronic

I’m another one with the 1.4 A4 (Avant) and the engine is perfectly competent for daily driving. I changed from a 116i (1.8l 138bhp) and find it really similar in performance in a much bigger car.

Whoever said it was dangerous a few pages back is talking nonsense. As with any car, if you’re in the wrong gear then it won’t pull away and it takes a bit of getting used to the gearbox in a new car.

If you’ve come from a small hatchback chucking out 250+ bhp then of course it’s going to feel slow. If you’ve been driving 1.6 diesel family wagons then it’ll feel much the same - but quieter!

This is hands down the quietest car I’ve ever been in and if you’re on a newly relaid motorway you can cruise at 80 in near silence.

For he price these things have been going for they’re unbeatable value

I had a 1.4 A4 as a courtesy car whilst my S5 got detailed. More than adequate for normal driving. Of course it's not going to be fast but it did surprise me driving back down the M6 having done the journey up the M6 in my S5.

I've been looking for an Audi A4 1.4T FSI Black Edition Auto deal for a while.

This one is by far the cheapest I've seen so far

3+23 for £270 a month for 10k a year

http://www.motorlet.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/audi...

Auto pushes the price up over manuals a fair bit. The same place has this deal on a manual for £240 a month
