The order books are closed from Seat until mid-August for MY19 Cupras...at which point they become a 290 again and not a 300 due to WLTP.
Lead times before they closed were 10-14 weeks for a Leon with 10+weeks extra for a Cupra. At the moment, no dealers actually know what the real lead time or delays are going to be until mid-August. I doubt new orders will be delivered until Feb 2019 though.
I ordered current cupra, was told December by everyone apart from one broker who had them in for mid August delivery.

Now they said there has been a mistake and will let me know. Expecting December-feb date.

Someone we know has a dsg yeti with the 1.2 petrol and it is very surprising at how quiet and reasonably swift it is.

Not sure about an 1.0 stuff though as I guess most of them are 3 cylinder?
Ive got a 1L 3cyl Ateca and it's good enough to be honest. Surprised me of how capable it is.

Is it not a bit thirsty though? I'd imagine they need a bit of a kick up the backside to get going?

Does anyone have any experience of retrofitting a tow bar to a leased vehicle?

I'd probably second that. Without wanting to sound like a stuck record since the vol ume 6 thread started. The two SUV deals I'm considering at the moment are

Skoda Karoq 1.6 TDI DSG SE Tech
3+23
10k pa
£225.35 inc VAT
no fee
That's via Graham Marfleet at Hub Leasing

And the other I am considering is..
Peugeot 3008 1.5 HDI Allure Manual
3+23
10k pa
£238 inc VAT
£299 fee
Found on contract hire and leasing.

Currently trying to find someone who will beat this price and arrange a test drive.

I haven't entertained any of the 1.0/1.2 litre petrol engined SUVs as I just can't see them being up to the job. We once had a 1.0 Fiat 500 and that wasn't even capable of shifting itself so I don't see how an engine of that size works in a larger family car. The fuel economy surely would be horrific as you'd be forever planting your right foot?
I'd plump for the Skoda out of those. The DSG gearbox is great. No way I'd favour a manual Peugeot over that and it's a bit cheaper!

I agree with you about the 1 litre SUVs. I've got a 1.4tfsi Audi A4 Avant which is 150bhp, even that feels under powered in the mid range (where you actually want the pull for over taking) especially when compared to other commuter wagons like the BMW 320d. I won't be sticking with little petrol engines when this lease goes back.

Pinned post FAQ is great. Well done that man. Only thing that might be missing is reference to 'man maths' to help get the deal over the line. (I'm in the kumquat preference group too...)

Done it a few times - have one on my current Astra (leased as a load lugged for my "toys")

I just hand them back with the bar on - cheaper than removing.

Never had an issue.

Most companies (including VW Financial Services), you're supposed to request permission first.

Done myself last week, got a letter through giving permission and got towbar fitted by independent (PF Jones). Also got letter and copy of V5 for getting number plates made.

Thanks mate. Great looking car to be fair.

Any good deals for this model or the others I listed?

We currently have a 3dr fiesta...lease ends in October but looking to upgrade ASAP...3dr is a nightmare with a baby!

I think you'd be fine in that case. I have been told October to December.

I've got a quote for a Mazda MX-5 RF 2.0 SE-L Nav with the guys at Loughborough.

Terms are 1+23 8k miles £261.60.
I know this isn't a steal compared to the non RF SE spec they were doing which was around 3+23 £159 (now 3+23 £199).
So this works out at 27% of the RRP (and for 8k miles). Have I basically missed the boat on high spec convertibles?

I'm gutted I missed out on the Abarth 124 auto deals as I couldn't commit in Q2. Test drove it and the exhaust noise was addictive. I'd happily wait til winter if there was any hope of those going cheap again.

I got fed up of the CH&L search 'feature' that shows you the total number of searches, so I added a button to semi-automatically select the lowest possible price bracket that has 'deals' for the search you've input.

Haven't done much testing but if it's useful I can finish it off and actually run each time you change search values. Should work in all browsers.

Install Tampermonkey, copy + paste the code into the "New userscript" window, and you should see a new button appear whenever you're on the search page.

The code is here:
https://gist.github.com/jdp80/32a3297b0e4f68e1eef3...
Thanks, if I've understood it correctly, does it find the lowest within a £25 range?
P.S I added the below into the script
// @match *://www.contracthireandleasing.com/personal/*
// @match *://www.contracthireandleasing.com/business/*
// @match *://leasing.com/personal/*
// @match *://leasing.com/business/*

EDIT: call me sad but I actually emailed CH&L yesterday asking them to add some much needed functionality.

Just been quoted a Karoq 1.6 TDI DSG SE Tech 10kpa 3+23 £221.58 inc VAT

That's Stephen Cushing (Fleet Sales Manager) at Horton Skoda. I will be taking that to Graham Marfleet to beat, however.

I too looked at both the MX-5 and Abarth although i came to the conclusion that the Abarth noise would drive me mad after a while and they only had auto stock left and upshifts were too lazy.

I was all ready to lease but despite advertised offers getting better actual stock was pretty non existent and what was left wasn't really attractive deal wise due to extra paint costs.

The manager at the dealer I spoke to was saying that stock is low as most cars not sold by end of July have been sent off for derogation.

I'm going to wait for the new model now. Higher spec, a healthy power increase not much difference in price (allegedly) and better residuals of a new model will hopefully mean better lease deals. Just have to wait for them to open the order books once they've cleared WLTP.

I suspect there might new promo on Abarth 124 in a couple of months. I almost got it but hesitated (exhaust noise in small close and potentially unhappy neighbours) and then stock was gone, except cars with extra options I didn't want to pay for. At least I tested it twice and know what to expect from the car.

I suggest you add all info about script to separate subject: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... It will be good to have everything in one place.

Sorry probably didn't make it clear but after testing both MX-5 and Abarth it's the Mazda that won out for me and that's what I've been trying to find a lease deal on

Thanks for the response.

I test drove a manual and read the reviews on the auto, I knew it wouldn't be anywhere near as fun but the price I managed to get with metallic paint still put it at a good deal. I agree the stock choice was severely limited and it felt like I had no time to make a decision!

Does derogation mean cars (any manufacturer) not sold before WTLP will be allowed to be sold after September as an exception?

Good to hear your plan as I'm not in a lease so very flexible to wait it out, I'm still young enough to want that absurd noise as a daily!

EDIT: Just seen you were referring to the MX-5, still useful to know!

Just spoke with CarSave - there are no basic spec models left, only models with the MSport pack and Comfort pack -- adds about £1500 over a 24 month term, which I've decided isn't for me.

I have taken delivery of a Volvo V90 D5 AWD r design on a 8k miles per annum contract, 9+23 , this was about 5 weeks ago, 500 miles on the clock so far. 244 a month bargain deal. Also come with the paid for front sensors.

Due to my circumstances (moving homes) I may consider getting rid, anyone interested , email me. I would want my upfront back too.

Is it possible to transfer with Volvo Santander? I will ask them too.

Savile grey in colour btw.

Cheers
