You do know you push the lever down until it resists, and then push harder and the seat drops?
I'm 6 foot and feel like I am very low down in the car.
I may need to pop in and try it again then I assumed the mechanism would be like that on my A4 where you pump the lever down to move the seat down but just didn't seem to move. I agree I must have been doing something wrong as my head was basically brushing the roof lining which seemed very bizzare I was probably busy distracted speaking to the young saleswomen say next to me on the test drive... I'm 6 foot and feel like I am very low down in the car.

Any way, any one leased an Octavian scout? any good?
After reading this thread I did the sums on a Scout, realised that the lower running costs compared to my current car would mean it would only cost me £800 net over two years at 8k miles a year, and went down my local dealers to try one. Much better than I expected - comfy, lovely gearbox, great ride, quiet and quite quick enough. They couldn't match the online deals, but because it was the end of the quarter and they are nearly at their sales target for estates they are giving me £450 cashback on delivery (half the difference). So total cost over two years with metallic paint just over five and a quarter, with six months upfront (minus the cashback). Result!

What are people being quoted for GTD lead times? I am having a nightmare with the GTD I ordered through CVL, keep moving the date back, breaking promises, not responding to e mails etc.
I've ordered one with PCP a few weeks ago and was quoted 6 weeks. I actually asked them to push it back further! It is a bog standard spec however so maybe there was a cancelled order somewhere?gareth3685 said:

I too have had issues with CVL albeit slightly different ones with regard to an order where the excess mileage was misquoted and then a subsequent quote with a higher mileage was apparently misquoted also.I cancelled the lease as a result and am now waiting for the return of the doc fee.
In answer to lead times, it's very variable depending on spec and dealer. If it's pushed back to week 22 (or later) it's not all bad since it means you'll get a 2016 model year car. These will gain the 6.5" high-res display from the new Passat, and theres rumours of apple CarPlay or built in sat Nav becoming standard....

GTD excess miles is 6p + vat, that figure is fixed by VWFS
Isn't that wholly dependent on who is financing the car? For instance my leased GTD is not financed via VWFS and the excess is 16.5ppm. Thankfully my annual mileage is more than covered in my allowance.andrewparker said:

What sort of PCP deals are they offering on these? Is it close to the lease deals?
Quite a bit more expensive, at least £3k extra over 2 years based on a 10% discount off list va1o said:

For 24 months and 5,000 miles, my local dealer offered £500 a month for a £2000 deposit which was laughable. I guess they've met their targets for that quarter/year.But I did get (for for the same conditions) £200 p/m with a £2000 deposit and 5.2p excess mileage with a final payment of £16,720. This is an excellent deal in my opinion looking ahead at future values so I snapped it up. Depending on how much I get I sell it for afterwards, it's two years of Golf GTD motoring for between £4-5k. The caveat for others being, the deal was via my employer as part of an employee discount scheme...
As April fools day cometh... So must the deals and special offers goeth..
Or am I wrong??
It looks as though I've managed to snatch failure from the jaws of success as my last minute lease proposal for a fiesta st3 was all kinds of wrong and now the prices have gone up leaving no time to put it right and secure the deal that was on offer yesterday.
