Checking in to keep any eye on thread. On the look out for a Golf R for the end of the year, as I am probably going to opt out of my company car scheme. Current car goes back at Christmas - any ideas on how long I should leave it before looking seriously?
Thanks

if this new GTi clubsport thing comes out soon i don't see how the R deals can continue.
On what basis is a stripped-out limited edition Golf for fanboys going to affect lease deals on the R?Im not sure that the new Clubsports power figures have been confirmed yet have they? I think there is room at top of the Golf tree for a stripped out track focused car with better power to weight than the R. New Golf in 2019 will no doubt see the bhp levels rise once again on all models. Talk of 325bhp in GTi. If so a 380bhp R wont be out of question. That will solve the hierarchy out as there wont be a 380bhp fwd Golf... Id happily have a stripped out 4wd 400bhp Golf R though........

Clubsport is 286bhp on overboost, 261bhp normallyClubsport S (the stripped out one) is 306bhp
Rumour has it there will be a run-out limited Golf R420 with 420hp.

Looking for some advice around determining the level of GAP cover required on a PCH and recommended providers.
Vehicle is a Q7 on a 6+23 deal at £400 inc vat per month.
Would want cover that covers initial payment of the £2400 as well as the potential shortfall that might happen.
Thanks
IMHO I'd only cover the initial payment. Vehicle is a Q7 on a 6+23 deal at £400 inc vat per month.
Would want cover that covers initial payment of the £2400 as well as the potential shortfall that might happen.
Thanks
Check your insurance policy for new replacement.
Guidance and thoughts appreciated.

thought I'd have to be looking at covering any shortfall in insurance company settlement value to the finance company company and my initial upfront of £2.4k to ensure I can secure new deal with upfront monies being avail again from the GAP insurance. Sure I read many pages back that was the suggested advice.
Guidance and thoughts appreciated.
I've read the terms of finance that I signed this week.Guidance and thoughts appreciated.
Should the vehicle be a total loss I am liable for all remaining payment. Therefore should you wish to take out GAP insurance then it's sensible to cover this too.

I got one of these about 6 months ago for the wife, great car. It's a little floaty round the corners but shift pretty well. The best thing about this version is that it comes with wife friendly wheels and tyres, literally impossible to curb them!Volkswagen Touareg Diesel Estate

Ahoy Fellow Leasers.
My current lease expires on the 16th August, and as we all know the '66' plate cars come out a couple of weeks later on 1st Sept.
Am I likely to get a better or worse deal arranging a new car to arrive in August rather than waiting until September?
I don't think it really effects it. I got one of the Golf R deals a year a go now. Some people that also ordered at the time had their cars delivered on 64 plates, others on 15 plates. It just depended what build week you got really. My current lease expires on the 16th August, and as we all know the '66' plate cars come out a couple of weeks later on 1st Sept.

There is a cheaper option at CVL - https://www.centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/vehicle/...
That's 5k miles rather than 8k?I nearly got one in the last round of offers but found it too floaty and a bit dated. It does shift well though for a big car.

VWFS mileage rate is 10ppm or similar so for the extra 3k miles it's £300 - a small saving, but cheaper.
Or has my calculator broken? :-)

The first price is £9242 inc vat, the CVL price is 23 * £251.99 + £3000 which is £8795.77 so a saving of £446.23.
