Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 7)

I'm in my thirties and I have just passed my test in May. (automatic license)
I can't afford a car, but could afford a lease at the lower end. Really wanted a Diesel but seems a bit of a unicorn 'cheap, diesel and automatic'. Best I've found so far is Renault Clio at 169 a month, but it's a bit expensive unless you guys think it would be worth it.
The other idea was to just get a cheap petrol lease like a Corsa or something. (Yuck I know, but they're cheap and insurance would be cheaper too)
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Without knowing your mileage, budget, and your willingness to pay an initial it's hard to highlight anything too specific, but something like that might be a good motor for you?
Obviously you can choose any traditional auto, or a DSG. Looking at cars in stock at the lower end/diesel/auto there's a Octavia's, Karoq's, Fiat 500's and the link above. There were also some half decent prices on Leon FR's lately.

Can I ask how you got on with the V90? I'm considering one on the great RGW deal posted a few pages back. I'm slightly worried it may be too big, but better too big than too small right?
Check out the dedicated S90/V90 leasing thread in the Volvo forum. I got a V90, and it's been great, but I'm used to large cars (S8, A7, S-Max, Mondeo, etc...). My only criticisms really would be the parking sensors, and the T4 is a bit on the thirsty side.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Thanks, very helpful. The sensors not reliable? I'm coming from a current model Tiguan so not exactly small, though the V90 is a bit longer and tiny bit wider.https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

That being said, it's a great car and I wouldn't hesitate having another one. Perfect wafty barge. The interior is lovely and the seats are epic. A lot of people moan about the Sensus screen but I thought it was decent. The safety and convenience stuff is also pretty amazing (the first time you experience seat belt pre-tensioning when passing a parked car can be a bit of a shock though! ). Mine had the winter pack with heated screen and steering wheel which were the best things I've ever had in a car come winter time.
When you first drive one (I remember my test drive) it feels like your piloting a cruise ship but I soon got used to it and never had any problems manoeuvring/parking etc.

I'm really confused with the Cupra deals out there. My current lease is up next March so I made some enquiries today with Nationwide and was told their cars need to be delivered by November so couldn't help me.
Just order one then, you’ll most likely get it around June if your lucky ! Cupra orders are a joke for delivery times.meclive said:
They are bigger though and much better for kids/dogs. IMO they look so much better than the leon cupra and also handle brilliantly and are faster (4 wheel drive etc)...
To be honest I would have bought one rather than lease if they weren't planning on bringing out the Formetor in the next year or so...
Seat Warrington have a couple of offers on the Cupra Ateca, so might be worth a look (I placed an order for one with them a week or so ago, with estimated 12 -14 week delivery)To be honest I would have bought one rather than lease if they weren't planning on bringing out the Formetor in the next year or so...

I also agree, I know it's highly subjective, but I think these are much better than the Leon Cupra in many ways (especially, to my eyes at least, in looks).

You get 100L of extra boot space, though that's pretty much vertically.Edited by meclive on Wednesday 11th September 17:16
Driving wise, you may be quicker launching than a 2WD Cupra but past that you're fighting aero dynamics and physics, it's not a quicker car.
The handling is also obviously compromised with the higher centre of gravity, I've just given back my LC and have driven the Ateca, it's an SUV with less comfort.
https://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/cupra/ateca/suv...
"However, while the Ateca acquits itself well on a country lane, if you were hoping for the kind of engagement you'd experience in a SEAT Leon Cupra or SEAT Ibiza Cupra, you'll be rather disappointed. The Cupra Ateca always feels bulky, and its steering has no more feel than in the standard Ateca SUV. It's certainly fast, but can't come close to matching a hot hatchback in terms of sheer fun."

The sensors are basically "Nothing, nothing, nothing, OMG STOP RIGHT NOW!!!!!"
It's worth noting that even the Momentum Plus models now come with a reversing camera as standard, which I'm hoping will improve the sensor problemsIt presents the same information in a visual format!
Nearly caught me out a couple of times.
I think the last 12” take up half the screen and the rest of the world the other half.

Saw this this morning, seems a bargain for an in stock Octavia Estate
Skoda Octavia Estate SE L 2.0TDI 1+35 at £201.79

I thought my SE Tech at £229 was a good deal, tempted to see if i can change, but then i'd have to sort my own tow bar and spare wheel

Yawn. If you prefer the Leon then fine, no need to try convince by linking to reviews - which are subjective either way. The Ateca suits a slightly different market - yes I've been in both and the Ateca is a MUCH more family friendly car, it feels MUCH roomier and has decent performance. Regarding the boot (as you mentioned it) it's nowhere near as deep so much better for dogs getting in/out etc... It just feels MUCH more car and IMO is MUCH more comfortable and quieter inside. Not saying the Leon is a bad car by any means.Driving wise, you may be quicker launching than a 2WD Cupra but past that you're fighting aero dynamics and physics, it's not a quicker car.
