You have £7000, which hot hatch do you buy?

Any particular reason these [Focus ST] fly so much under the radar? ....
I suspect it is a combination of non-premium badge compared to Golf GTi, not as hard core as the Megane RS, not as fun as Fiesta ST, etc. Also, it is not the 'top of the range', Ford fanboys will want the RS version.
I’ve spent the last few months going over the exact same question (I think a lot of people on here have). Tried a few r56 cooper s, swift sport, 208gti etc but went for a Clio 200.
A 200 has to be on the short list. Great balance of practicality and driving experience. All hot hatches have the same rough level of usability so it’s behind the wheel that separates them and the 200 is just grip and theatre.
Finding the right one is tough. I had a look at half a dozen before finding what I was looking for (post here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... ). Most have been boy racer’d with not much history or care put into them. I’d say it took a good couple months to find the right one but they are out there.
