I’ve been quoted 50-£60 maintenance fee on various 20k leases on a new Mercedes.

Are maintenance packages just a money spinner for the finance companies or do they make sense?

24 month lease term so 2 services and 2 set of tyres. I know i couldn’t o cheaper on budget wheels and independent service but don’t see the lease company allowing that kind of behaviour!
If it's really going to need two sets of tyres then even £60/mth is not bad. Unless you're prepared to do a lot of leg-work and haggling the services could be £300ish for the first and £450ish for the second. Mercs can eat rear tyres but are pretty light on the fronts.

Very happy for you. Still have no idea if my car even exists!

There is a good golf 1.5 deal on national vehicle solutions.

https://www.nationalvehiclesolutions.co.uk/Volkswa...

Lead time is stupid though.

Anyone waiting on a 1.4 A5 or A4? We have an A4 blk ed on order fro. Early April and were told Sept delivery but this seems unlikely now. Dealer being really vague with answers not even sure they have a clue. VAG lead times seem to be up the wall

Have you been able to get an order number? Could plug it into the Audi Build Status website and see if there are any clues in there?

I believe there is a planned VAG factory closure as they can't meet the emissions regulations?

If they are not able to build/deliver it by September then your probably looking into next year if the gossip is to be believed. Not enough emissions test labs to put all their cars through the new test process. If they have not tested it, then can't be sold September onward, even if it is already built.

VAG group cars seem to be worse affected. Probably because they faked all their previous emission tests and dont have enough proper labs lol

Tracker just says order at factory hence me asking. Know a few people on here ordered 1.4 A5s so was curious. If they can’t deliver for end of dec I’ll have to pull the plug.

Have just ordered the below. Not outstanding but seems okay in this arid desert of lease deals (mad to think I had a Golf R for similar money in 2014!) :

VW Golf 1.5 EVO TSI SE Nav - DSG
8,000 miles / year
3x23

£650 up front
£224 per month
Direct with dealer - no fees

About 25% of list price

Drop me a message if you’d like the dealer details.

Just to chime in on this as well. I ordered an A5 SB 1.4 which has now made it to the ‘quality control’ stage. I hear it can spend forever here, but the car ‘began construction’ a week earlier than the tracker originally anticipated, which was this coming Monday.
