Hi all,

Hoping you can all help here!

I've been scrolling up and down the forum for a Hatchback (Focus, Golf, 1 Series, A3).

Ideally looking for a 3+23 or 3+35 deal but struggling to find something for £750 Deposit and £250 per month MAX!

Have any of you posted a deal recently for something like the above which i may have missed?

Thanks!
That's a decent budget for a regular hatchback, you shouldn't be struggling at all to get something for that amount.

How about a Leon 1.4 FR Technology on 10k miles, 3+35 £756 initial, £192 a month:
https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...
Or an Octavia 1.5 SE Tech? https://centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/lease-skoda-...
Loads of options about, with that budget I'm amazed you've struggled to find anything.

Bear in mind the road tax on this car is now £1240 for the first year and £450 per year for the next 4 = £2590 tax over 4 years vs £1000 in your calculation.
PCP "on the road" figure will include first year tax. Buyer will be liable for the next 3 years tax.
Both good points, so maybe £1500 in tax, still... not a bad way to get in to a £60k car as long as you don't mind staying there for 4 years.

This looks a very good deal. Financially could be considered as equivalent to a £549 lease on 1 + 47. It presumably won't include road tax but at the end of the lease based on current used prices the car will be worth more than the £23.5k balloon payment, at 4 years old and 32k miles, even with the new model coming in. I'd estimate more like £30k meaning there's an opportunity to claw back around £6.5k. Take the road tax off this at £250/year and spread it over the 48 weeks, and based on man maths its the equivalent to knocking just over £100 off the monthly cost, so less than £450/month!
Nitpicking but isn't it actually equivalent to a 1 + 48? i.e. they will want the deposit AND the first month's payment, unlike a lease? Not very man maths of me I know, sorry......

hmmm, probably, but my man math's calculator doesn't have that function so we'll ignore it.

Thought i was only a couple of months off year three, had a look.. October 2015 was the first payment. Think I am just torturing myself at this point seeing these deals. Last thing i need to be doing is to be paying any early redemption clauses.

At year three on my last lease however i did leave the lease with zero penalty and was able to pay one month up front.

Funny when you get the urge for a new car, its like poking at a sore tooth... you just cant seem to stop until something gives.
So having gone from 'pulling the trigger' to 'fisting the kumquat', are we now going with 'poking the canine'? wink

I suggest checking Broadspeed and Autotrader. Discounted price: £52,183 , RRP £59,405
4 years old cars are for sale at £28K, so trade in price is probably around £23-24K. GVF is spot on.
Then you have to add cost of road tax for 3 years and probably set or two of tyres and it's not that great deal.

Looks goods to me, did anyone get the previous deal and care to comment on owning a Jag?

Thanks

Hi,

Absolute newbie to leasing - and PH!

I currently have a BMW 435i on PCP which expires this October.

Thinking of an E Class Saloon, in order to be sensible, but could be tempted by a Coupe.

So many lease deals, but the best I found seems to be from RGW Contracts for:

E220d AMG Line Saloon 9G
£377.99 inc. vat initial rental
£377.99 inc. vat per month for 35 months
10,000k miles per annum

http://www.rgwcontracts.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/...

Thoughts on the deal? It kind of seems to be good to be true! Any advice would be appreciated!

How have leases with alphabet found they are with regards to fair wear and tear? Had mine collected today and every little imperfection was noted. Will have to wait and see which points are charged.

My previous lease through Network, car in similar good condition and inspector didn’t note anything.
I had my hitachi astra lease collected today, he marked up absolutely everything, took him 1 hour and then invoiced me for over £500..i didn't agree and will be disputing. £300 of the charges were viable, 2 kerbed wheels, scratch on rear bumber and small dent in rear door but some other stuff he put on there was a joke. He put 1mm chip on windscreen as a damage item..

Safe to say I will not be leasing again in the future too much stress worrying if someone will scratch the car while parked.

the inspector gets a % of that damage clawback so it's quite likely to be handled dishonestly.

New model is around the corner, so there will be plenty of examples of the new model in 4 years time to drive the price of this one down. If 4 year old ones are currently listed at £28k when only a facelift behind, this is surely going to be below that when it's a major model update behind.

Also as the list price is > £40k, wouldn't it be liable for the £310 premium on road tax, making the Road Tax £450/year?

My inspector even put down a tiny mark on the wing mirror ffs! He put down 6 points in total but I have no idea if that is just to prove that’s the only damage before it leaves my drive or whether that’s what they will try to fleece me on!
I’m thinking the latter!

We had a MINI on pcp collected by the well know auction house who deals with most collections. The guy who collected it after the inspector signed off the report. claimed the car had no fuel and they tried to charge us.

Until we sent them images from collection including the fuel levels and so on. So they did wipe the extra charges and I believe reprimanded the driver.

So defenintly some rouges in the inspection/collection game.

My astra also went back a few weeks ago with £0 charges and grade A car but I spent the last 2 years worrying where I parked it etc.

Would I lease again probably would but only if the right deal came up

This^^ always worth taking time stamped photos on the day of pick up. I did when my Up! was voluntary terminated on a PCP. At least you know exactly what will or won’t be charged when going by BCA guidelines.

Do you know this for a fact? I would be interested to know which of the inspection agents are doing this.

Fuel is not normally a chargeable item with most funders, they just expect enough to get to a local garage.

A couple of years ago I remember a driver was caught marking down fuel levels as empty and then asking customers walking out of a local petrol station for their fuel receipts so he could claim them.
