Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 5)
Discussion
My Octavia was collected on 25th April, the inspection had been due the day before but they never turned up. It had 400 miles over the 16k and no damage whatsoever.
I took many pics and an old boy collected it, said it was off to Manchester for auction. I've looked on BCA site daily and it hasn't come up, and I haven't had an invoice for any mileage. Odd.

I had an Audi A6 on lease from Audi themselves in 2006, it was a 56 plate. The deal was one months payment and only £299 pm including vat. I think it was a two or three year lease. It was literally the worst car i had ever owned. Underpowered, sluggish and worst of all it was guzzling diesel.
I requested early termination, the guy with the clipboard came to my house to collect it. The car, albeit under the front bumper (not even the bumper but the stone guard under the car) was scratched such you couldnt see it looking at the car. He told me that this was damage, and also told me that the car was going to auction the following Wednesday.
I got a letter from Audi Finance some 7 days later telling me that they wanted £1500 for the damage and subsequent repairs.
I went to town on them and provided evidence of the car being at the auction, so they were clearly attempting to defraud.
I didnt pay them a thin dime. I am never going with Audi again even though i am sure the cars are better now I just cannot trust the Audi leasing company.
Last time i terminated my previous X3 lease I chopped it in at year three, the dealership gave it the once over and despite being a few thousand over the mileage they didnt charge anything, there was stone chip damage and a few scuffs as normal wear and tear.
The salesman said that as far as they were concerned the mileage beign over slightly made no odds as it is just there really to deter the high mileage guys.
I think that the fact i was trading in and taking out a new lease with them probably helped a lot.

Fuel is not normally a chargeable item with most funders, they just expect enough to get to a local garage.
A couple of years ago I remember a driver was caught marking down fuel levels as empty and then asking customers walking out of a local petrol station for their fuel receipts so he could claim them.
Maybe thats what he did. There was over quarter of a tank. as per the guidelines BMW told us. but he noted down there was just enough to get him to the petrol station 2 miles away. A couple of years ago I remember a driver was caught marking down fuel levels as empty and then asking customers walking out of a local petrol station for their fuel receipts so he could claim them.
Was a charge of £50+ for refuelling. Also he tried to claim there was damage. Again he was just the driver. The inspector had signed the car of 30 mins before he arrived.
Must be a good way of making a few £ on the side.
On another note. I spoke to a guy at a well known dealership in London the other day. He said they alone have over 200 cars that will need to be registered by September. He expects some good deals soon on all range of funding.

Mine appeared on Auto Trader a couple of months after it was collected, they also got the mileage calc wrong but I still had to pay some excess. BCA were really fair with the damage I thought. A few scratches and a kerbed wheel cost me about £50 (they didn't charge for the kerbed wheel). They hadn't repaired the scratches because I could see them on the photos on the dealers website where the car ended up.I took many pics and an old boy collected it, said it was off to Manchester for auction. ETA. I left the car with the fuel light on and didn't get charged for fuel.

I had my hitachi astra lease collected today, he marked up absolutely everything, took him 1 hour and then invoiced me for over £500..i didn't agree and will be disputing. £300 of the charges were viable, 2 kerbed wheels, scratch on rear bumber and small dent in rear door but some other stuff he put on there was a joke. He put 1mm chip on windscreen as a damage item..
Safe to say I will not be leasing again in the future too much stress worrying if someone will scratch the car while parked.
I heard that Manheim is the worst company to pick up on damage. Is Hitachi managed by Manheim Auctions? OK, looks like it is: https://www.manheim.co.uk/news/2017/hitachi-renews...Safe to say I will not be leasing again in the future too much stress worrying if someone will scratch the car while parked.
So just avoid Hitachi deals then. VWFS is pretty lax with damage.

As it had nice mileage it probably went via a closed sale so you would not see it on BCA’s site (or it went to Manheim)I took many pics and an old boy collected it, said it was off to Manchester for auction. Is there a chance we could have another lease thread but for other general questions? This thread seems to be quickly washed away for a few pages discussing non lease deals but more about leasing in general. Just an idea.
you know, in 5 volumes you are the first person that has ever suggested that......it has been mentioned once or twice. Some people think it's a great idea. Some don't. The latter always win. Not sure why.
I kind of think there should be a basic FAQ wiki sticky to avoid the same fundamentals of what leasing is, how it works, and also how to make this deals thread work for you etc. would be a good idea. Keeps the thread regulars from having to field the same questions or misconceptions over and over because it can be difficult to remain polite... I don't mind discussing more novel things though, but they are the minority of the 'off topic' stuff.

Nooooooo!!! That's not what I wanted to hear. My Jeep GC is being collected by Mannheim in a couple of weeks. It's in pretty good condition though, barring a couple of kerbed wheels.I was hoping for a similar experience to when my Golf R was collected a couple of years ago. It had 2/3 small dents, 2 kerbed wheels and the whole roof was covered in dents from a hail shower a few months earlier... I didn't get charged a penny!!

Hi,
Absolute newbie to leasing - and PH!
I currently have a BMW 435i on PCP which expires this October.
Thinking of an E Class Saloon, in order to be sensible, but could be tempted by a Coupe.
So many lease deals, but the best I found seems to be from RGW Contracts for:
E220d AMG Line Saloon 9G
£377.99 inc. vat initial rental
£377.99 inc. vat per month for 35 months
10,000k miles per annum
http://www.rgwcontracts.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/...
Thoughts on the deal? It kind of seems to be good to be true! Any advice would be appreciated!
Back to lease deals, in response to the OP above from a quick google list price is around £40k meaning the deal is 34% of list. 20% of list on a 2 year deal is a very good deal, so I would say 34% on 3 years is decent but not great.Absolute newbie to leasing - and PH!

Interested in a BMW X120d auto. Any leases that would compare to this pcp deal in terms of low deposit and monthly payment?

I’d be open to other 4wd automatic suvs if there’s any special deals around.
Thanks

The issue these days are the 'lack of decent deals' vs. what there were 12 months+ back. At that time the thread was awash with deal after deal and they'd get discussed rather than the ins and outs of leasing/ PCP/ PCH/ stone chip costs at hand back/ fuel quality/ tyre wear etc etcit has been mentioned once or twice. Some people think it's a great idea. Some don't. The latter always win. Not sure why.
