Yeah, it puts the handbrake on when you brake to a stop. The handbrake light will show green. Then you can lift your foot off the pedal and turn the brake lights off. Releases as soon as you hit the accelerator.
Does it? That's not how autohold works on other VAG models - it holds the footbrake on, and on newer models the brake lights stay on. The 'handbrake' will take over after a while, or when the ignition is turned off.

Keeping the mirror adjuster knob on L should do it.
Yeah tried that and it doesn't work...
Put it in the L position while in reverse and manually tilted mirror down. Put back into park and it refused to go back. Have to change it manually.

Just found my Scirocco up for sale on Autotrader that I returned 9 weeks ago. Looks like they have refurbed the 2 wheels that were kerbed and it’s up with a VW main dealer at £17,991

I had the £168/mth deal for 22 months in the end so it cost me £5,196 in rental fees and £139 for a first service.

From memory the car was around £25k new so in this case, leasing was definitely a cheaper option than buying as I would imagine they would only give around 15k as a px

I forget now, but it needs a bit more setting up than that. You're going to have to read the instructions.

List price: £48,250 [from LR web site - same spec]

Initial Payment: £3828.43 [including fees]
Monthly: £403.27
Total over 24 months: £13103.21
Amortised: 545.99 p/m

Over the term you will pay around 27% of the list value, which makes it an 'OK' deal.

Wondering if any of the more knowledgeable folk on here may be able to point in the direction of a better deal than this.

I’m looking to order a Volvo XC90 D5 Inscription Pro for the wife this coming week on a 6+23 with~8k miles per year.

The best I’ve found is £641.87 per month with £4146 initial payment. I make that out at just over 31% of the RRP (£59,785) which is far from good and even worse one you consider a discounted RRP.

Has anyone seen anything better than this for an XC90?

Thanks

In my opinion the top spec of a desirable car is never going to be a lease bargain

A mate got an R Design XC90 for 500/month on a 3+35 just after Christmas
Obvs this is a different spec and deal and was 6 months ago........

Cheers

I’m looking for an estate car with a big boot for work (I’m an engineer) and I like the look of the new 5 series.
Is there any good deals out there for the 5 series estate maybe 2 litre M sport?

I’ve had a quick look but the prices are quite high. I’m hoping someone knows of a deal somewhere

I collected the A5 yesterday - I haven’t seen many in real life before and it’s such a pretty car, photos don’t really do it justice. So that was about 4.5 months from order to collection.

On my 2018 A6 the AH works as in the 2nd example (although not sure of the handbrake taking over after a while but the brake lights go off.

When I rent a Seat Leon FR DSG, works the same again but the brake lights stay on.

Our 2016 Alltrack Passat left the brake lights in using the auto hold.

Visit your local dealer and asked to speak with the business/fleet staff.

I've not long ordered a 1 series on lease and our local dealer was cheaper than anything online plus there are no broker fees. Sure it's not a 5 series but it might be worth a call. They'll try and sell you one first but eventually they'll let you near the fleet people.

Nationwide have Seat Tourings at £304pm for £10k, 3+23 with a £198 fee:
https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/Seat_...

I make that just under 25% of list.

Assuming the lead times are sensible this looks good to me considering how few deals are about.

Anyone know whether lead times are still way out for these?

When you click on colour options one of the colours says "fewer than 5 available" and there is no way to add options. Suggesting these are stock vehicles. Annoyingly, I'd be more interested if these were factory order with long lead times as my current car doesn't go back til Jan and I would want to add some options. Agree that whilst this isn't the best deal ever, in the current desert it's not bad at all.

Doubt the Cupra estates are stock, too many people are having huge waiting times on them for half a dozen just to be sitting in a compound.

Decent deal though, a grand cheapest than I have ever seen them advertised. If they are to order then expect a 6-12 month wait!

Yeah, looking at their site again they do tend to say upfront when vehicles are stock. But if they are factory order, why the limitation by colour? Odd.

Just a head up for those looking at maintenance Inc tyres, I've just been fked over by VWFS.

Nail in the inner side wall, rang them and they tell me to take it to any ATS, went there, and apparently they only replace the tyre due to wear over the lease period, or repair the tyre if it's repairable. Obviously being in the sidewall it isn't, so it's just cost me 250 quid for a new fking Michelin.

I'm not fking happy to be fair, especially as it was sold to me as being a fully inclusive package which meant all I had to do was put fuel in the car and have 2 years of carefree motoring.

fking wkers.
