Got the email too, that JCW cost looks pretty good, manual though. £262.49 Amortised for 8k miles. Would do me quite nicely.
Is it worth it?

My lease Superb goes back in October (£179pm, sob).
I can't work out if deals are going to get better ahead of the WLTP switchover (new way of recording emissions) as makers hurry to shift old stock, or worse as stock runs low and orders on new WLTP cars are throttled back. What are people's opinions?

Latest update just now on my A4 1.4 blk ed..............know others are in the same boat.......

'Yes it’s not an ideal situation as we are here to sell cars and deliver them to our customers, I am sure it will all work out in the end…. At least you have time on your side. There is no update other than it looks like the 1.4TFSi has been deleted, we don’t know if its going to be replaced by a 1.5TFSi or 2.0TFSi. once we get clear information from the factory I will be sure to advise you. Feel free to contact me at any stage if you want an update, but as soon as I have something of substance, I will let you know. Thank you for bearing with me – I appreciate your patients'

Aside from some dodgy spelling it appears I will get a MY19 car (not facelifted one just the MY19) and it wont be a 1.4. Interesting! Apparently They are looking at reducing the model variations so it could be the smaller engine in the A4 goes completely. My price will be held as the agreement is direct with Audi and they have given me this in writing.
...and apparently the Black Ed will come with 20" alloys!... this is what the dealership have said even though they've not seen what they look like yet.

Its just crazy how there is literally no info as to if the car will arrive before the end of the year!

How many miles and did you choose metallic paint or black? £5800 is for £8K miles per annum and £400 paint. Or 10K miles + paint = £6,126.4 That's for automatic version.

Base model auto 8K miles is £5,213.44 total + £300 fee: https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

I found you previous post. You mention metallic paint +24pcm so total is very close to my quote.

I talked to the dealer yesterday, and he said they will match it, but didn't get email confirmation yet. They had colour combo in stock I want as well. Only problem is, I couldn't test drive the car properly, because demo was stuck in traffic with other customer. So took spare car for a short test but that was not enough.

if i was needing the car by the end of the year i would probably cancel this one as it doesn't sound like it can be relied upon.

My estimate, which will probably be wrong is that manufacturers will offer really good deals when all this WLTP mess is sorted. Their order books won't be looking pretty at the moment.

All our company car replacements have been pushed back and I think the usual suspects will be fighting over these orders come September and October time..

i think there is a huge difference between the properly designed-for-electric cars and these ones which have had plug in technology tacked on to an existing design. With both however i think there is a big gulf between expectation and reality. I'd ignore the manufacturers economy figures and be reading up on real life experiences before getting one for sure. Negative points aren't just on battery stuff either.
I used a Bmw 330e petrol hybrid for my 26 mile daily commute and averaged 51 mpg over 16k miles. That was with charging fully for 3 hours every night after work. On battery alone I was lucky to get 15 miles out of it whatever the season. These phev cars suit short mileage journeys but if doing decent mileage will no where near deliver claimed manufacturer figures.

Realistically then I'm better off getting an MX5, saving the £80pm off the lease rental and having some fun with a car that will probably be more economical.

It seems PHEVs get better range on start stop journeys and on B-road journeys than cruising, as the braking regen's the battery.
