Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 9)
Discussion
Have been looking through our work Salary Sacrifice 'Green Cars' as there looks to be a solid saving if you are a higher rate tax payer. The full EV seems to be the ones to go for in terms of savings.
Currently have a 430D so need something which has a hatchback type boot which is 400L+ and some half decent ish performance.
They have the Polestar 2 single motow which I love the look of and it fulfils the requirements above in terms of being ok performance wise, has a decent sized boot and 265 mile range for £392 a month and includes:
• £0 Deposit
• Finance
• Routine Servicing
• Maintenance
• Replacement Tyres
• RFL
• Roadside Assistance
The problem is I just can't get the sums to fit, even accounting for fuel savings compared to the 430D.
Over 4 years of ownership on the BMW assuming:
£150pm depreciation
£150pm in Fuel
£50pm for VED, tyres and servicing.
£20pm for any repairs - Its unlikely to need a grands worth of repairs in 4 years of ownership but in the interest of being generous.
I am still not even breaking even with the Polestar other than having a brand new car for the sake of having a brand new car.

Are you comparing a second hand car which you wholly own with the purchase of a brand new EV on SS?Currently have a 430D so need something which has a hatchback type boot which is 400L+ and some half decent ish performance.

Do you have a Salary Sacrifice scheme that is run by another company or is it managed by your work?Currently have a 430D so need something which has a hatchback type boot which is 400L+ and some half decent ish performance.

I'm curious how to approach such a scheme with my current work, just seeing how much effort it is.

In terms of the sums of jumping from what I have now to an EV then yes, I am.I like the idea of going EV and will likely get there eventually but at the moment, based on what I have I just can't make the sums fit even via the SS scheme with decent discounts.
Sure, I could get one of the tiny little Smart FourTwo jobbies they have on there but its miles from what we need size wise.

Company called SG Fleet apparently, we got an email about it a few weeks ago. The hybrids don't seem to be much of a saving but full EV is a decent saving if you are a higher rate tax payer and are looking for an EV anyway. The new Kia EV6 is on there for around £450pm including all of the above, no deposit either. I'm curious how to approach such a scheme with my current work, just seeing how much effort it is.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone dealt with V4B Ltd? Based in Wrexham.
They have some good deals on the Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI 4Motion SE 5dr Tip Auto.
£468/month on a 36+3 - which seems pretty reasonable to me. Just want to check that they are kosher!
Yes I had an S5 from them in 2016 and they were good. I also have a Touareg at the minute. Impressed with it overallHas anyone dealt with V4B Ltd? Based in Wrexham.

Just a thought about leaseloco's % rating - is this based on the cost of lease in relation to the list price? If so, is it actually a meaningful figure at all - if you were buying a car cash or on HP/PCP, some sell for list price, some sell at a huge discount.
Is it influenced by what they want to flog you? Go on their homepage and of the top 10 deals between 97% and 100%, 7 of them just happen to be cars 'in stock' - convenient at this time where it's difficult to get your hands on a new car.
Suspicious, me?...

I thought it was (largely) based on the p11d value. Is it influenced by what they want to flog you? Go on their homepage and of the top 10 deals between 97% and 100%, 7 of them just happen to be cars 'in stock' - convenient at this time where it's difficult to get your hands on a new car.

Bare in mind, the SE is pretty basic and only has cloth seats. May not bother you, but I would expect leather paying out that much per month.

Heads up for anyone contemplating the Volvo deals via Santander. I had an email from them today indicating a price increase from the 1st Oct.
If you get a quote now they are valid for 28 days. Still tempted by the xc40, but manual and cloth seats for £300 a month - damn. However times are tough.

Haha that’s the similar dilemma I’ve got with the V60. Cloth seats and 160bhp for £300p/m. Might just have to bite the bullet as it looks like prices are only going one way!
I might just go v60 instead - but add on the smartphone integration. As much as I want leather, £30 a month extra for it on a car that isn't going to be mine sounds a bad idea.Ursicles said:
