Exactly my thought process too. Only thing bugging me is if I go for it I’ll have a whacking great long wait and will kick myself if something more interesting crops up!
Can you cancel without penalty if something else comes along?I've still not had the finance docs from the funder.
Am i being sceptical and impatient?
Quick watch out for all on end of contract VWFS charges, especially those with informal extensions
My Arteon inspection highlighted one scratch on rear bumper to be repainted. I downloaded the end of contract guide from VFWS website, and it listed repainting scratch on rear bumper (a "small" panel) at £55.
The document I was asked to sign by BCA had the charge listed as £110, so I refused to sign.
VWFS sent a letter to me yesterday with invoice for £110. Phoned to discuss this morning and was informed there was no balance left on the acount as the money I was due to be refunded for excess rental already paid (I was in an informal extension, so paying monthly in advance, but formally charged by the day) had been used to clear the £110 charge balance. They'd sent me no correspondence on this at all.
Politely told them that, as I'd disputed their charge, this was essentially theft as they contractually owed me money for excess rental to be refunded, but had pinched it to pay for a made up charge.
They formally logged it as a complaint, and agreed to refund the correct balance to me (excess rental minus £55), but had they not sent me a letter asking for £110, I'd not have remembered about the excess rental owed, and just assumed they were waiving the charge for the scratch....

That's very cheeky and good you spotted it. I recently had Santander try and charge me for a paint defect for an area repaired by insurance - I'm like "what the hell am I supposed to do about it - speak to my insurance or the repairers". I challenged it and deleted the direct debit - not heard back yet.My Arteon inspection highlighted one scratch on rear bumper to be repainted. There used to be two charges for scratches. £55 to primer and £110 to bare metal/plastic. Was yours to bare metal? My Arteon inspection highlighted one scratch on rear bumper to be repainted. Just to join in on the EV chat - have signed up for a Lexus ux300e (claimed range 200 miles, "real" range nearer 150 miles, which is fine for a normal day.
We'll use the other car for longer journeys).
Wife finally came around to an EV saying something like "I won't ever have to go to / queue at a petrol station - just plug it in at night and it'll be warm when I get in on a morning!".
Premium Pack Plus + Met Paint
3+35, 10k miles/year, £380
(so £14.5k over 3 years, which is about 32% of the OTR price of >£45k)
Elec only - so a decent annual fuel saving, but will have to pay a bit more on insurance, and £600 for a home charging point (could manage without that I suppose).
Who did you order from? Gateway2Lease were the cheapest and with whom I ordered my wife’s Takumi model. I posted yesterday a deal on the VW ID3 for £337 per month 8k miles on a 9+35 via vanarama which include 1 year free insurance and a free home charger. Might be worth a look? Not as nice as the Lexus but spec for spec they are almost identical. We'll use the other car for longer journeys).

I've got a car on factory order from a main dealer for a lease. Am I able to cancel this without penalty? I've not paid anything yet or signed anything.
Found an in stock deal that I think I'm going to go for instead.
Better make sure stock order is real and you will get it quickly, before you cancel factory order, so you're not left with nothing. Found an in stock deal that I think I'm going to go for instead.

Yeah, good point. Will wait until I have a confirmed delivery date before cancelling the original order.TROYTHEBOY said:

Does anyone know the ALD penalty charge for missing the first service? (Asking for a mate)
Apparently they vary car to car. Missing 2nd service is £200 on V90 to give you some idea, but best to phone them and check. In fact hey are totally aware that some penalty charges are lower than actual cost of a service so don't assume they will try to rip you off.PenelopaPitstop said:

No, however, that's not a distinciton made in the Damage Guide (https://customer.vwfs.co.uk/existing-customers/End-Of-Agreement.html) or how it was recorded by BCA. It's simply given as "Scratch requiring repainting" and the panel its on it what determines the cost. tazgalsinh said:

Leaseloco:
I was told a instock Fiesta ST was 4-6 weeks.
So not 'instock' at all.
I've been told a Polo GTI is 2-3weeks and is 'sat at the port here waiting'.
Yet there's no rush on the part of the lease agent.
For the main instock is a lie to get them top of the searxhes and the price bogus as in reality it's 'oh sorry its +£100 extra a month for this and that as the price quoted was for a base model (that doesn't exist)'.
Some lease agents appear akin to estate agents.

In terms of the sums of jumping from what I have now to an EV then yes, I am.
I like the idea of going EV and will likely get there eventually but at the moment, based on what I have I just can't make the sums fit even via the SS scheme with decent discounts.
Sure, I could get one of the tiny little Smart FourTwo jobbies they have on there but its miles from what we need size wise.

- is the depreciation figure accurate? No idea on the residual value for a BMW 4 series
- you need to factor in how the BMW is financed - either cost of finance or opportunity cost of tied up funds
- does your salary sacrifice provider include insurance? Only ask as mine does so another saving to factor in potentially.
