You're judging a minority of people with entrenched views by your own standards, which fortunately only also represent a small minority of entrenched yet vocal views at the other extreme of that particular spectrum.

I find it really curious that people who admit to having no experience of something still manage to have really strong opinions about the experience of owning and driving it. It would be like me finding a thread about 911s and telling all the owners that it's basically like driving a beetle even though I've never driven one. And when the 911 owners called me out I'd feel perfectly justified in calling them zealots because they didn't agree. t, and why you’re wrong and that you know nothing about driving. Is anyone trying to convert others in this thread?
It seems to be one set of people explaining how an old Micra or other tiny engined petrol supermini is the ideal car for everyone and if you like something comfortable or with power, you aren't a real enthusiast and must not enjoy driving.
On the other side most of the comments from EV owners are defending against the argument that they have bought the wrong car despite it working perfectly for their use case.
Of course EVs don't work for the person who has no on street parking and goes on caravan holidays at the opposite end of the country every weekend but they are perfect for the vast majority.
In my own experience, having 476bhp instantly available in a car with all the weight low down, ohlins adjustable suspension and brembo brakes can actually be great fun to drive. Especially when you wake up each day with a full "tank" and don't need to go out of your way to fill up. It's not a Caterham or Elise but no one is claiming that...

Sorry to hear that. I personally find it difficult to judge someone I don't know based on their choice of cars. I would also find it even more difficult to insult them to an online audience as I can't see what that can achieve.

t.I understand the Micra owners view.
Having a car that is heavy and rather numb isn't the best experience of driving. In fact driving any powerful car these days is rubbish. Driving something like a RS3 or Tesla 3 slowly is boring. I'd rather drive a slow Micra fast, hence why I live my MR2 roadster. It's far more enjoyable than than driving my mates RS5 slowly because it can't do the back roads as good.
Anyway back to the EV thing. Saying someone who owns an EV doesn't like cars of whatever its just daft.

And a 42L fuel tank, so with that engine and carbs you get maybe 35mpg? So about the same range as many EV’s, the range he’s saying is a ‘fraudulent joke’.Some strange ones on here.
Evo give the new model 3 a four star review but apparently it's not a good driver's car. Unfortunately I couldn't find a review for the 1997 Micra.
