Most likely OP is buying written off cars to repair.

Registering them in someone else name, then selling them "on behalf of" and thinking this absolved them of responsibility.

Has now got caught out and is trying to use this forum to see if they can indeed ignore the buyer.

I don't understand what the OP gets out of threads like this. Sad as it is, I can sort of understand the fantasist ones that ask what to spend their imaginary £500k budget on but these made up problem ones baffle me. Is it just an attention seeking thing?

Sorry that is completely wrong. There is no obligation on the seller to reveal anything at all. They could put up an ad that says car for sale £3,500. Then when people come to see it, they can refuse to provide any information. The buyer doesn't have to buy, they can make up their minds from the info provided ("it's a car") and any research or inspection they do.

Likewise, if it is priced bel market value, the argument could be the vend discounted the selling price to take into effect the condition and any defects.
It is buyer beware.
If asked a derect question, the vendor cannot give false or misleading answers... However proving one has asked a particular questions and bring provided with a verbal reply is hard to prove in court. Unless you have a written question and answer

I wonder if the OP does this to "evidence" their defence as some sort of contemporaneous notes...

i.e. I am telling the truth judge, see I've put the same comments on a forum, which backs up what I'm now saying 12months later - this is what I posted at time "the truth". Like using yourself as a witness statement to your own lies.
