Happy Friday. Feeling lucky? Well, roll the dice (sorry) on this Double Six, slightly over top thread.

I've always loved how understated the name "Double Six" is. Yes, it has a V12 but a Daimler is not for the braggart who would wish to shout about it.

Even Super Eight feels like they decided the Jaguar naming scheme was too "turbo nutter XRi"

Lovely car, but... check the MOT history. Like all these X300s, the mechanicals are one thing, the underside corrosion potential is another. All 4 areas that usually go have been noted previously , and probably repaired, but they'll just keep coming back eventually unless a really proper job has been done to fix them, and the subframes too.

Nice spec. MOT history suggests it will need some welding at some point, but most E39s will.
Does it have xenons?

Hard to tell.
I think so, they do appear to be domed outward.
As a casual observer of this thread and mild E39 nerd, I want to say if it had Xenons it should have headlight washers no?

Friend of mine reckons the wiring looms are rubbish and break all the time.

Is he talking rubbish?

Yes.

I had an auto 200.

They do get there eventually, but it will be fine. Bogo bogo spec.l - excellent.

It's an issue for later cars with multivalve engines, but even then replacement isn't the end of the world.

Not sure how much I'd fancy a manual especially with the foot operated parking brake,

No rust, yet living by the sea doesn't add up for me, I'd want to check it very carefully. It'd have to be near perfect at that money.

Manual and bog spec doesn’t matter if you are motoring at 50 to 75 in this.

It’s in nice nick, so it’s a compromise.

Dad had one of these in the early noughties, a manual 200E. Still considers it his best ever car.

Very much want, as it reminds me of my broken XF which made a SOTW appearance a couple of weeks back. Bet it's good with the V8.
