What car? - 4 seats, event to drive, up to 100k
Discussion
I've had a number of exciting cars over the years - 911's, Ferrari 430, Lamborghini, Lotus Exige V6 etc... my present daily driver is a Defender 110 which I'll be keeping.
I've had a few years of very hard work, and would like to get something to treat myself sometime in the next 3 months or so. It would need to have space for a 5 year old in the back, and be able to do road trips in. Been looking at loads of options and can't really decide... I guess because this is a first world problem and I don't "need" it, but I've been working very hard and want to get something for myself after all this work.
Shortlist:
Aston Martin Rapide S
Bentley Continental V8S / GT Speed
Bentley Continental Flying Spur
Maserati Grandturismo
Alfa Guilia Quadrafolio
Also considered:
911 - had a couple already, so just wouldn't feel "special" to me no matter how nice it is. Also, limited space in the back for a 5 yr old.
BMW M cars - look too much like a normal BMW, which although great, don't feel "event" enough
Mercedes AMG - as above... although I like the interior of the S63's
Tesla P100 / 100D's - nice cars, not sure you'd pay £120k for a P100D when you can get a 6 month old Bentley for that.
I'll be keeping the Defender, and the Mrs has her own larger car too, so it doesn't need to be massive, but if I can't fit kids in the back it'll just never get used.
Anyone driven any number of the above, or considered a similar set of cars? What did you go for and why?
I don't want to spend more than 100k, but equally I don't want it to be 7 years old and look tired. For 100k you can get either a brand new, or max 3yrs old / 10k miles version of any of the above on my list.
Anything else I've not considered?

My immediate thought is that as you have two daily drivers, you probably shouldn’t buy something new/newish as the usage is so low and it will depreciate heavily. Sorry I don’t have any ideas yet but 100k would get you into a serious classic. For the odd road trip and high day the age shouldn’t matter too much.
Maserati or Alfa for me.
I had a GranTurismo S for a couple of years and it was great, a real event to drive with a fantastic Ferrari engine that sounded amazing and loved to rev, it is also one of the last cars with a normally aspirated Ferrari engine. There is plenty of room in the back and the boot is a good size.
The way it drives is very dependant on which gearbox and suspension set up you choose, you can have a relatively soft GT or a more hard core sports coupe.
I have never driven the Alfa but it gets rave reviews and is close to a Ferrari saloon as you can get.

I'd say the Maserati bit if that's not for you I'd seek out the LC 500 they're a good drive & I think of them as a more modern Granturismo, they're also a bit rare.
