Buying a Q Plate Vehicle - advice sought
Discussion
I am considering purchasing a car which is on a Q plate. The selling dealer has advised the reason for this was it was stolen recovered (7+ years ago) and the chasis numbers were removed.
Looking for advice on what checks I should carry out or questions I should ask the dealer to ensure everything is above board.
What impact (if any) does a Q plate have on price? Is it similar to a NS/Cat D?

Q plate is applied when the original date of manufacture cannot be identified.
So in your case the car had it's ID changed so impossible to know the original ID, and exact age of the car.
In my opinion it does affect resale, can't say by how much though.
Unless there's a good saving I'd just pay a bit more and buy a non Q plate.
