Need to exchange my boring TTS for something FUN
Discussion
Cars worth about 12k. So I want a similarly powered car, I can trade against that's fun, fast, no compromises (like the excessive ESP / driver aids on the audi)..
I'm thinking a megan 250, but they look huge?! Clio 200? Nothing vw because we know theyre all bit dull. Could I get a low ish milage e46 m3 for that kinda money?

E36 M3 Evo, depending on the mileage you do, this is as much an investment as it is something fun and involving. Of course en E46 is more reliable newer option and you won't feel bad for driving it into the ground. If I had 12k to spend i'd go for the E36 (I am a little biased mind).
I love these, in that techno violet colour...E36 M3 Evo, depending on the mileage you do, this is as much an investment as it is something fun and involving. Indeed. I had a Cayman S for seven years. Those that say it's to easy aren't trying hard enough.
Found them a little clinical, and lacking torque, i.e. needed ringing out to get the best out of the engine and well they suffer the same issues that most 6 cyl porsches do of that era..ELUSIVEJIM said:
These are just examples of cars out there.
If any were of interest I am sure you could look harder for a specific model or example cheaper.
Mitsubishi EVO VI GSR
59,000 miles
£14,490
This is expensive but it could be a UK car instead of an import but don't quote me as I am not sure.

Surely you must have established that when you test drove the TTS, but you bought it anyway?
It is only when you are pushing a car you get to feel the real issues when it comes to the TTS or any car for that matter. You can't do this on a test drive especially now the salesman prefers to sit alongside.
The TTS is not a bad car at all. It is just when you have owned more focused cars in the past it shows up the TTS weaknesses.

Another vote for the Evo V/VI. In any colour other than silver!
Mine had some money spent on the chassis and was as quick as you'd ever realistically want to travel on the road.
they suffer from chassis rot unless really well cared for though. Hmm still, most viable option out of the lot i reckon..Mine had some money spent on the chassis and was as quick as you'd ever realistically want to travel on the road.

Yeah that's true. The last time I test drove a car with a salesman next to me was a Civic Type R, and he encouraged me to thrash it everywhere. Otherwise they let me take it out on my own usually.
Agreed, I don't find TT/Golf platform too horrendous to be honest. It's certainly not an 8/10ths and beyond car, but up to that point they're a pretty good steer.
It steers like a computer game, no real feeling, overly light and hard to know how much to put in, at times !Agreed, I don't find TT/Golf platform too horrendous to be honest. It's certainly not an 8/10ths and beyond car, but up to that point they're a pretty good steer.
