While my M5 is having its engine rebuilt I need another car. I have a budget of £2k. I want something turbocharged or supercharged, needs to be a manual and no bigger than a Saab 9-3. Needs to be interesting and has a reasonable turn of pace. What is out there that isn't a Saab?

A3 is a bit on the dull side, but thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Guys. I'd love a Mini, but it may be a little too small sadly.

From the drivers perspective it feels less cramped than my 1 series did. The boot is useless and the back seats are for children or dogs only. However, with the back seats folded down it's a useable little van. Can easily get a 55" TV in... or a washing machine.... or a bike with the front wheel off.
It's the boot space I am concerned about. I've driven a Mini One before so I know I fit in one, but the boot is a bit small and I will need a decent size boot. Folding the seats is an option, but I hate having things on display.

You know, does it matter if it is turbo or supercharged? I need it until March, I should probably buy the cheapest most reliable car I can that meets the boot size criteria really....

Tomorrow I pick up a Honda Accord 2.0 I-VTEC Executive. 2003, 38k miles. My fil is basically buying it and letting me use it while the engine in my E60 M5 is rebuilt by Mr VANOS, after being totally messed around by the last guy.
