Car for lots of short journeys
Discussion
I'm looking at changing my car soon and I've been looking at the G20 BMW 330e, they look to have a good blend of performance, economy and practicality and all for under £17k (my budget). Is there anything else that I've missed? I need the seats/doors and space that the 330e has as it's a family run about, but I'm wondering if any other cars would be a better choice? The car hasn't got to be a hybrid, but a hybrid does seem to fit my needs if it can run on full electric for a reasonable amount of miles.
Any thoughts?

The CVT is perfect around town.
I dont understand anyone who drives a CVT and is ok with it tbh....I drove a hybrid with one and it was like going back to the 1970sCABC said:

Tesla's are a bit bland and they all drive like an arse but if you have a BMW you're half way there already
Seriously though, short regular journeys you probably want an EV or a little zippy city car/hatch. Not a big lump. A model S would fit. I-Paces are in that price range and the odd Polestar which all have the space.
In terms of Hybrids, not sure you'll get anything more interesting than what you have. Few Mercs, an Infiniti, a Lexus?
Yeah maybe an EV is the answer, but I would need to put more money in to it if I did, a nice 330e is £14k where as a nice EV is £3-4k more + another £1k if I fitted a wall box. Mate, just buy a 330e. You are not only disregarding everything else suggested immediately, but always comparing back to a 330e.
You know what you want, just go get one.
I have been looking at various cars for a while and have already viewed and had already dismissed most of the cars that have been suggested. The reason for starting this was to see if I was missing anything. You know what you want, just go get one.
Nothing yet, I'm not in a rush. I need to get an electrician around to check my 3 pin socket 1st. Then it's a decision between petrol, plug in hybrid petrol or full on EV. The EVs that I like the idea of are all much more expensive than say a 330e, but the BMW will cost more money to run due to tax and servicing. I did run an insurance quote for a Jag Ipace and it was really expensive, a polestar was cheaper to insure and petrol hybrid cheaper still. So basically I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
