any idea what engine Noble have got lined up for the M15?
I hear it's a V8 Volvo (ford)engine
No the odds are that it will be that V8 bike engine (i.e two 4-cyl bike engines mated on a single crank) that was hawked around some time ago I think under the brand RST.

Mountune tried to help bring it to production 2 years ago but it all ended bitterly, then I think the Caparo was going to use it and then binned it..

Any other big banger that is commercially available is just going to be too heavy. Remember the V8 race engines in LMP cars only last around 3000kms before rebuilds, and a P2 car is around 700kgs and a P1 car around 900kgs - and I'd like to see anyone live with one of those engines for more than a day!
Sorry, but who is this muppet? He knows Bog All.....

Cheers,
Ian.
Who are you to say I know "bog all.."
I am a Noble owner and big fan of the Marque, with knowledge and integrity.

Something which I believe you lack sir.

But as J has posted, this is an open forum, so we can have a good laugh at your postings.

Cheers,
Ian.

I heard its got double overhead underhang, pozitronic drive, monoshock suspicion and it weighs less than 500kgs

Oh, also heard it handles like a grand piano on an ice skating ring.

Of course all of this is true and accurate, i got it from a horse in the pub!

You are all wrong.

Lee's gone Green, and it's going to be an electric V8m. The Volvo connection is that it will come with 3 years of electricty to recharge it (based on an average of 10,000 miles per year) which all comes from Sweedish hydro electric powerstations, which happen to use Volvo desgined generators.

For the unitiatied a V8M runs at 8,000,000 Volts. In the pipeline is a V6M, which whilst running at a smaller 6,000,000 Volts offers quicker throttle response.

Ah the V6M is supposed to go in the convertible, but people will complain it isn't as fast as the V8M, Lee will get in a strop, cut it all up into small pieces and that will be that.

How long is it since Noble sold anything , anyone ? ..it seems amazing that anyone can "tread water" this long even with a "substantial backer" ...but has anyone thought that he might be developing his own engine in conjunction with someone because , at that sort of price tag , you dont really want to be using someone elses engine ?

Stop Press

I just heard its going to use two twin turbo Remington D3700's running from solar panels in the invisible roof, of course the innovation here (which Lee has patented) is the plasma conduit providing the energy to the power unit.

Alot of much higher premium cars use BM engines for example, and most dont complain. You have suggested exactly what i think killed off TVR (one of the things anyway), they tried to build their own engine and had it prove totally unreliable in a very public way. Only now have others taken on the task and got it to work right (at a massive price).

Since when in this thread have I made a definate statement of fact? Are you not allowed to make a speculation as to what might or might not be?

Why are you all so sensitive to this? Its ing crazy and actually you know what some of you are just utter pricks, who love to slag everyone else off whilst living in la, la Noble land.

I can say its 100% going to be powered by a Ford Pinto because you nor the factory can tell anybody otherwise.

I think you mean was. Now all bull-sh*t can only be obtained via your official Noble Dealer. However they're not to chuffed about having to handle all that sh*t, so will charge you accordingly. laugh

I met the guy who designed the ill fated TVR engine . he tried to flog us the concept for a race car but although he talked a good talk , he seemed full of Bull to be honest ! ...you can buy good quality cranks ,rods , pistons , valves etc the tricky bit is blocks and head design . If the bundle of cash backing noble is as good as it is supposed to be you could place this at Cosworths door and get what you need as they have done this job for many manufacturers . Obviously , all this is speculation . I just dont think that , at that sort of price , he can stand any jibes about Mondeo engines etc ...just my opinion ...
