Headlight bulb replacement
Discussion
Umm, going to get car fettled prior to Rockingham. As it's going to the factory, seemed a good chance to replace front candles with H7 Osram Silverstar bulbs as per various threads on the subject.
Now for the stupid question, how many bulbs are there to replace on a 3R, 2 or 4? Needless to say I've checked the car/handbook and am alas no wiser!?
Thanks (anyone).

I think the main beams are ok, its just the dips that are a little weak. I am considering taking a torch out with me the next time I drive at night as I think it may light the road better!!
Does one really have to "cut" open the seals to replace the bulbs for brighter ones?
Sorry mate I am not sure what the dips are but the mains are H7'S

Get them adjusted correctly (Mole Valley have done mine and they have the "nack" of making them point in the right place). As standard they aren't adjusted high enough, hence you can only see about 10 foot in front of you.
And yes - you do have to cut the seal. Make sure you clean it all off and seal it back up well afterwards (or let the factory do it )

Yes, Kerridges did a good adjustment good job on mine. They were absolutely abysmal before that. I got some spare H7 Osram bulbs from powerbulbs.com recently and I might ask Kerridges to replace them for me on the next service, but since the adjustment's been done I'm in two minds as to whether this'll be just a case of "fixing something that isn't really broken".

Yea - the responsiveness of the PH webservice is getting worse, sometimes you click "submit Reply" and the PH service sits there doing apparantly nothing for a couple of mins AND then completely fails to do the submission. So you go through it all again and resubmit.
This morning it was taking minutes to get the thing posted, hence the retry and duplicate. It could be network issue but as others are doing double postings it's probably the PH service.
Oi Ted, any ideas?

Re the bulb replacement programme, (worth replacing all once you decide to hack into unit, IMHO) I rang Bob at the factory today, he went and found out that the dip and main beam are H7's, hence you (or I rather) need 4. Oops. I'm going to have super bright beams for Rockingham, that should help my driving. Think I've lost the plot.
