So, I'd had the GT for 6 days. I'd been out in the dry the first day I picked it up, and on the Sunday in the pouring rain, all with the number one passenger of choice warning me of impending removal of the side of my car, due to an on coming van, because of LHD road positioning errors. So, how to get more of a feel for the car?

Ferry to Denmark with AdrianW, 2 track-days with passengers, and 1,000 miles should do it! After half rebuilding Adrian's car in front of the hotel in Denmark, off to the first track-day we went, along with :-

Gembella Mirage CGT. Fast (but peddled badly as I kept up in the GT without trying too much). Didn't sound as good as a standard CGT to be honest.

LP640. Fast and really does sound great. Best sounding car of the day.

Yawn.

Nice sound. Didn't take that long before it ended up in the sand....

Adrian with another victim. Fastest around the track (if you hadn't guessed wink)

Nice.

Pretty. Driver might look like Dr Evil, but he was a really nice chap (my neighbour in the pits).

Classic machine in the future.

I had some fun too.

biggrin

Excellent!

For a minute, with the first pic, I thought you'd bought a Carrera GT too!
Well, funny you should say that. I am looking at another car, but it'll surprise you all if I get it. It's British and sadly for my bank balance, as usual, not cheap frown.

Excellent, a Caparo. Can I have a go?
Good call.
Nope. There's not one bit of plastic in the whole car. Car company starts with B and they haven't made this particular model for a while now. You'll all just have to wait until I get one, or just give up trying.... wink

What a day! I'm sure you deserve it but I'm still jealous.
It was stunning. Great fun and Adrian and I pulled in the best part of £5k for their charity. For 2 laps in the GT as a passenger, the public where paying about £120 a time. Still, they got their money's worth as the chief police pursuit driving instructor said, he couldn't see a place I could have gone quicker without ending up in the gravel smile.

What would probably make you more jealous if you found that various organisations sponsored us and the ferry, hotel, petrol etc etc were paid for, so it cost us nothing.

The second track-day was taking out the cancer kids the charity works for. Lots of really sad cases, but they all loved the cars. They obviously just point at the car they want to try and off we go. One little girl on crutches got lifted in and her mother said she'd like to go round slowly at no more than 90km/h. No problem, just a bit of driving miss daisy and another happy customer.

Then her mum asked if she could have a lap.

'No problem. How fast do you want to go?'

'Oh, I like speed, as fast as you like....'

Dokey, I thought. By the 3rd corner she had tears in her eyes, and screamed please slow down. Happiest part of the day that hehe

Then it must be one of these...
yes Had a nice little drive around in one recently. Would you believe their VMAX is slightly better than a standard 2.5L Noble? Ok, takes a bit longer to get to that speed though....

We'll see. Lots of options in this field so just watch this space.....
