Tesla dropped price again?

His margins are huge and he can undercut the entire market as no other OEM can produce EV's as cheaply as Tesla.
This is exactly what im getting at. The mark up in Tesla’s they have the ability to slash their pricing. From all accounts they are not only hitting their sales targets but look at California. Tesla are spot number one and two with the Y and 3 of all cars sold! Its more the fact that if they really have got the manufacturing process so refined now that every legacy manufacturer must be stuffed.

I know this is the legend but manufacturers in general vary their pricing all the time and to different types of buyers. It's not exactly new. Most are smart enough not to vary the list price as it causes chaos. Obviously Tesla is more about a standard price as opposed a price that varies depending on your ability to negotiate. Its more the fact that if they really have got the manufacturing process so refined now that every legacy manufacturer must be stuffed.

This. Aside from the US, Tesla sales are in the doldrums despite price reductions earlier this quarter.
What’s your source for this?Tesla had a 500k order backlog in July, 75k in December, which sparked 20% price cuts at the start of the year.

Its not a good look is it? At the end of every quarter, you get discounted cars and this pattern is now forming. Might even see free supercharger miles thrown in by the time the end of March comes.
Don't train your customers to wait for offers as they won't sell very well when they are full price. Just ask Jaffa cakes for the same learning

Don't forget, the current ones have no form of parking sensors and there's lots of rumours of yet another refresh coming so probably best to hold fire and not buy the current one unless you're really desperate.
There will be thousands more arriving on boats so not like supply will suddenly dry up.
Depreciation is horrific too currently so nearly new with the sensors may be a better bet if you're using your own money.

I'm sitting tight another week to see if anything else drops around the 15th. Chatting to them, Business Contract Hire is currently an offer via leasing company (£494/month+ VAT) for RWD with wheels & painted. This doesn't apply to the discounted inventory stockLivLL said:

HW4 is only in testing at the moment, will be months until that is shipped. There will be thousands more arriving on boats so not like supply will suddenly dry up.

HW4 has been shipping on MS and MX all year, albeit we don't have them in the UK and the current crop of EU MS and MX cars were built last year, or at least the ones in inventory are.
So they could appear anyday on the M3 and MY as there aren't as many differences as some predicted. The main structural one is housing the new front radar which is bigger than the old one they dropped last year. There are no cameras in the headlights like some thought, the forward facing cameras have been reduced to 2, and the resolution of some of the cameras has been innreased, together with a change to the processor, but thats all seemed easy to do on the MSX

Personal. There were on stock deals for £560 a month on a 10k, 3 year, 3 down profile, Now we are looking at £620 for in stock deals and £600 for a factory order. Stocks must be running down a bit.
Dealer told me they are expecting some in (to my spec). Agree that the inventory discounts seem to have dried up but they had an incentive on business contract hire - 6+48, 10k miles was £490+VAT.I'll leave it another few days to see if any new incentives drop

Mental. PCH deal at £4000/ £434 is a good shout.
ETA £23pm cheaper than 3 weeks ago!!

I have to say, at £4000 advance and £457pm it is a compelling PCH offer for sure.
I think Tesla will have the model 3 starting from around £38000 permanently soon. If it’s true that they will launch a smaller vehicle for between £25000 / £30000 then the model 3 needs to be a reasonable step higher to get people to purchase it.
My brother in law managed to purchase a long range 2020 model with 45000 on the clock direct from Tesla for £25000. There were several in stock at that price but all have gone and similar vehicles are now £30000/£32000.
Regardless , if you take into account inflation a new SR model 3 for £38790 is excellent value.

Brand new Model Y single motor in stock had an extra 2k ish off, 42 point something K. Honestly discounted getting an electric car because of stories of charging network woes, but that sort of price is seriously tempting.
That is good value full stop, well aligned with ICE equivalents.
