Tesla will do everything they can to deliver before month end. The same thing happens every quarter.

Looks like 2020.8 has started rolling out. Ap/FSD visualizations for EU and Canada, plus other stuff ( 3rd party charging, improved regen for S/X, exfat support etc).

Plus Track mode V2 even for stealth cars.

New Eu rules for Autopilot in process should improve things in a few months.

Had a brief play with an RS7 this evening, 20-80mph off a dual carriageway roundabout

Completely neck and neck the whole way, lots of noise from him, sounded superb

No doubt he would have walked away after 80, but had it been 0mph start I would be confident I’d have pulled a gap on him initially and held it

Not sure who told you delivery would be in April because everyone I've spoken to has said that after March deliveries that's it until May/June.
Arval's initial guidance was April, Tesla contacted me directly to say March.
Also, I no longer have to go to a Tesla place to get it, as it's being delivered to me at home. Very handy, everything is ninety minutes from me!

I'm not sure you necessarily would. Your base speed is approx. 40 mph, below which you have constant torque. They may have the benefit of a torque converter and short 1st gear, so can build power quicker.

Where you would probably win is if they are caught napping, as you ramp to full acceleration in mS. If they have not engaged their launch control with a full boost stalled torque converter start then they still have to wait for all this to happen. My brother's 340i is quite laggy from idle.

Hi all

I am a bit late to the party!!

I have narrowed my new car down to an i3 or the model 3.

What kind of discounts, if any, have you guys managed on the model 3?

None

Tesla are bringing a fraction of the cars they could sell

They also don’t do negotiations

This, tesla simply don't play games like other manufacturers and dealers. Instead of dealers employing price discrimination to get whatever they can out of you, they sell the car for a fixed price which is more transparent.

Imagine how ridiculous it would be if a bottle of milk was quoted at for £5 in tesco and that's the most anyone would ever pay however depending on how good a negotiator you are, you could negotiate some money off depending on how much stock they had and if the checkout lady/shop had hit its sales target.

You'd just walk down to the next shop that wasn't playing these tricks wouldn't you?

You're really comparing a £50k car purchase with buying milk - rofl

Tesla do discount for fleet purchase but not for individual customers currently, there are quite frequent spec and price adjustments though.

The best way to snag a discount is to not buy outright but to lease or PCP and let the lender take the worry of unknown residuals. Shop around for the best lease deal and wait for a good one to show up, prices are all over the shop.

A sucky day for me. Took a day off work to wait at home for my M3P to be delivered (via the new 'Tesla Direct' service) and it never showed up. I called them to find out what was happening only to be told that there were 12 cars that had "gone missing" and that mine was on the list. Hard to understand how you can lose a car that can be tracked via an app but that's what they said.

So now my old lease has gone back and I'm without a car. Yay Tesla, great start!

Not sure thats really true any more, after the initial UK adjustment on the perf prices and spec have been pretty static for a while, grey 20s and white paint excpeted.

Here the price has gone up over time rather than down

Rob, they've been in the UK for a few months and the prices have changed twice already.

We've got one of each (i3 120ah, M3P). Should be pretty obvious which fits your requirements as they're very different cars.

Model 3 SR+ - Better performance, better to drive, better equipped, better range, more comfortable, far more practical. much more stable at motorway speeds. dedicated charging network and faster charging speeds.

BMW i3 - Better built, cheaper to buy, easier to park and manoeuvre around town.

Yes, agree. Two quite different cars, although the i3 is probably a lot closer to the Tesla in some ways than a lot of BEVs out there.

We are also probably going to get an i3 as a second car to our Model 3, but there's no doubt the Tesla is the superior car.

Indeed, although its alot easier for other manufacturers with inflated RRPs to hide price increases as the dealers will simply give less discount.

If tesla need to increase the price the RRP increases which makes headline news for some reason.

Yep, the savings might be minimal waiting and holding out but for example has mids wanted a white Model 3, a patient wait would've seen that pricey option come for free later on.

mids - are you looking to buy outright, lease or finance the purchase by some other method?

Thanks everyone.

My requirements are purely to obtain a “free” car from work with “free” fuel if I charge it there.

Purely a tax saving exercise. Unfortunately my budget (£40k) doesn’t really open much up to me.

I can just scrape a M3 with no options.

Thanks again!
