Tesla are going to post some amazing figures for Q1 sales in China, USA and Europe and EV cars will soon be cheaper than ICE vehicles. All driven by Tesla.

Yeah about right, if 50-60kwh battery, expect approx 4 miles per kwh.

Advertised range is your typical unrealistic range with perfect weather,road etc.

Long range is 75-80kwh so expect around 230

Thanks,LFP showing useable 52.5kwh and another forum user on another thread saying he gets 2.8 miles/kWh in winter in his car.

That’s 147 100% to totally stranded - so far away from claimed 305 miles it may as well be a different car.

In summer at 4 miles/kWh still only 210. Range claims still seem to be bordering on fraud on all EV makers adverts.

Still I remember only a year or two ago people on here claimed 50 mile range was enough because the average U.K. use is 30mikes a day - seems moronic now.

How is the difference in standard claimed range and actual range related to average U.K. mileage? Lots of hyperbole in your post really. Bit dramatic.

It is of course the end of the 1st quarter, hence the incentives.

My car was only ordered last week, with an estimated delivery of early June, however they've clearly matched me to a stock car, as I now have collection tomorrow!

Considering I was 7 months into my Polestar 2 order - with at least 5 months remaining until delivery - it's somewhat a win in ordering to collection being less than 10 days!

The glory days have gone and EV’s will be priced like the rest of the market. I was looking at used iX’s and a 50 can be had for £75k down from nearly £100k new. So 25% done in 18months. Not very cheap motoring but probably expected with such a chunky list.

I agree. There is nothing magic about an EV that means they would be priced differently. Supply and demand plus the cost of new cars will drive second hand value. If the price of a new car falls (which is unique to Tesla at the moment) then it will have an inevitable impact on used values.

FYI - I sold my 5 1/2 year old MX in December, so well past the used car peak, for 50% of what I paid for it. I didn't think that was bad.

In summer I could easily achieve 5.0+ mil/kWh.
A recent trip to Heathrow, less than 5 degree, doing full dual carriageway and motorway I could average 3.4mil/kWh
A model 3 getting at low at 2.8 have to be performance model and driving it like digital 0/1 on accelerator and brake

Viewed as a car…. a very good point. I have been blown away at the smoke and mirrors played by all the manufacturers to get the buying public into the lie that circa £50k should be the new entry point for EV family car ownership … amazing work if you can get it !

At less than £45k for a big SUV tho…

The Y is almost as practical/big as our X, and has more range/charges faster. £45K for one brand new is a fab price, for family duties they will last for years to come. This was the state of our X this morning, I simply don’t have time to look after it properly and its the family/skip run/general day to day hack.





But 30 minutes with a hoover + some wipes and its looking almost ‘as new’.….after all these years (coming up to 7), I’m still amazed how easy it is to clean these cars. With ‘free for life’ supercharing we aren’t parteing with our X until forced to do, but otherwise a £45K Y would be very tempting.

There are still plenty of cars around, Tesla just took all the discounted ones down as they weren't going to deliver them before the end of the quarter.

They also registered a load of them as demo cars and are now just cycling their old demo fleet with a discount.

Stick around though, 6 weeks and the discounts on new will be back.
