In theory my supercharged Atom is 0-60 in under 3 seconds.I timed my 2019 Model 3 Performance and it would deliver a consistent 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
But, the Atom would most probably be slower in the real world, as you would need dry weather and a perfect launch. You would also look like a bell-end trying to launch it on the public highway, whereas nobody would even notice the Tesla...
Going to be buying a 21/22 M3P soon, I do 30 miles round trip a day. I'm spending £200 on petrol on my daily, let alone my weekend cars.
Have 2 kids now, so going to go for an M3P and try to charge it at work as much as possible. The finance is £250 p/m, so I'm spending an extra £50 but it'll be a nicer journey.

Theres no great sign that things are levelling off and mileage is a factor. End of battery and motor warranty is what’s driving the prices down, if you look at say a 85D from 2015 you’ll see that is still dropping
I can easily see them being 12-15k in 2 years.

I think it's incredibly hard to forecast. My past couple of cars have been on PCP deals anyway, but on this occasion I felt like having a guaranteed future value/option to walk away made a lot of sense.What's peoples thoughts on depreciation on cars that a re currently 2019 -2020 sat at around £20-25k.

By way of a little update, I've had the car for around 10 days now. My initial observations:
-I think it suits the black paintwork
-The 'iPad' controls everything, I found this highly annoying on test drive. However, it is very intuitive and easy to use after a short period
-It feels a LOT slower than the Golf over about 50/60mph. That might just be the lack of aural stimulation as I haven't actually checked performance (stats suggest there wouldn't be that greater difference). If this had been a serious concern, I could have stumped up for a dual motor version.
-It's very relaxing to drive, it's a nice place to be and makes me drive in a more chilled-out fashion which is great
-Unsurprisingly, sitting at high speeds on the dual carriageway coming home chomped through a bit of range: I used about 65% over 100 miles on the journey home (it was late on a Friday night and I wanted to get home). Subsequent economy has been far better.
-This might be user error, but my steering assist switches itself back on each time you commence a new journey and occasionally grabs the steering if you try to 'straight line' an empty roundabout or corner
-Low down grunt is brilliant and makes for good, effortless progress
-Handles and rides impressively, feels a bit like a 3 series to me
-I have discovered that we have free charging at work, so I've done around 350 miles at a cost of £1 (an off-peak top-up at home)
In summary, I bought this car to save money and as a bit of a head vs heart decision, in reality I am shocked at how much I like the car. It may be a bit short on character, but it's hard to imagine a better overall alternative of comfort, performance and value. Based on my initial impressions, I'm a Tesla convert (as a daily driver anyway).

I'm now in a 2024 RWD, it doesn't have the same urgency of the SR+ but in reality has all the power you'll need.

That's an interesting clip. Also hadn't realised the latest cars were slightly slower?
Our LR seems to eat PS4s. Have averaged about 12k miles per annum and the tyres, rears particularly seem to last ~20k. Other costs have been a cabin filter every 2 years, for which a nice man comes out to you and changes it for, IIRC, about £18.
It's definitely been one of the cheapest cars I've ever ran. The lack of servicing required and lack of any faults at all over the period with it has been a genuine pleasure. We charge on the Octopus 7.5p/kwh tariff 90%+ of the time too and use the occasional Supercharger for longer journeys.

Interesting to hear that on tyres - I'm the opposite, they last ages.
Have loved having mine - the perfect commuting vehicle, and my wife's favourite of all time. Really hard to think about what might replace it when the lease is up in March. Probably another Model 3 LR

Had the heat exchanger go under warranty at 50k miles (oddly after the remote technician had come and changed the wiper blades and "fixed the heating settings")
Tyres wise, they last forever - new rears at 38,000 miles; full set at 68,000 miles, rears need doing again now at 104,000 miles. PS4s each time.
Buttons to run, great to drive, great to be driven in. Autopilot has been a game changer. Not as exciting as other cars we have/had, but a genuine pleasure on sweeping A & B roads.
