I don't think for that level of performance ~£1k premiums are that unreasonable. 3.1s 0-60 is supercar territory.
I totally agree, I’m still waiting for the first pensioner to get mixed up and launch one through a shop window Insurance levels must be astronomical for younger drivers on these cars though.

Wow £1k for insurance. Is that average even with several years of no claim?
(cancel the m3 and buy a Raptor)
i have 20+ years NCB and a clean licence but commute into London, my A45 is £500 a year, the M3 £600, LR £750 and PERF £900(cancel the m3 and buy a Raptor)
Its making it even harder to decide which one to get
the base M3 does everything i want, the LR has 4WD (just about all my cars have been 4WD) and better range, The performance is only 10% more but has much higher running costs (tyres, brakes, insurance, finance) but has the biggest smile factor ...
head over heart... cant decide
As for the raptor after driving a M3 i doubt i would buy an ICE car again, it would be like using film in cameras, light bulbs you turn on at the wall, blurays, scheduled TV or vinyl records: just an old fashioned way of doing things that i am glad is long gone from my life.

The premium will probably scale with the performance, as said 3.1s is seriously fast and in the realm of £100k+ cars. Even the regular car is faster than most stuff.
Having brutal acceleration in a car can create a number of bad situations that wouldn't necessarily normally occur with a less powerful car, like applying the power too hard whilst turning etc. Plus there's the whole "watch this" element too.

Been given data of august 25th, but tempted to switch to cheaper white. If only I knew what delay would be involved..... I think the mystery is on purpose.
i honestly think tesla UK does not know what stock they have, what is coming on the ships and what has been allocated until cars are matched to buyersI got some lease quotes before the price went down recently, then tried to get them renewed and found out Friday just gone that they've actually gone up instead of down?
By my math the top spec Performance had gone down a few thousand and the residual value seems to be the same so I don't really understand why the quotes I'm getting have gone up?
Is it simply because with each whimsical price and options adjustment Tesla makes there is less and less confidence in the pricing?

Surry I'm still not too up on the lingo.
Lease as in Personal Contact Hire, not via Tesla, via places like Octopus.
Regards P Vs LR - couldn't you just get the Performance and not drive it hard? Wouldn't you expect to get similar mileage?

My point on the P Vs LR is that the LR is £4k cheaper, but did cost £30/month more on a PCP. Interestingly, I went on the Tesla website to check the exact amount and they seem to have fixed this weird discrepancy. The LR is now £30/month cheaper.
I went and had a look at one at the weekend. The Model 3 is tiny!
Couldn't even get into it comfortably. I'm only about 180cm / 6 foot but even with the seat right back and wheel as high up as it would go it was a pain. It's a very low down car and the driving position is recumbent.
I strongly recommend trying one out before buying. After that experience there is no way I could live with one.
