Running a Tesla Model 3 as company car - my costs

No mention of lease costs, salary sacrifice, flexible benefits package or other. If your employer is giving you the car then of course it’s cheap.

And let’s ignore your dodgy tax evasion on how much you get paid per mile.

A free company Lear jet and ignore tax is a cheap way to tracpvel too.

If you want dodgy maths, we bought our Tesla 6 months ago, cost nothing to charge as I have free supercharging through multiple referrals and it’s gone up in value about 2k.

I did get the Performance, and whilst I don’t regret it, I needn’t have bothered. The wheels look good, but are a pain in the arse to keep nice and un-kerbed, and they’re uncomfortable. And the difference performance between it and a Long Range just isn’t noticeable in day to day use.

But anyway, over 4500 miles mine has cost about the same in BIK, £67.50 in home charging, and 0 in supercharging due to free miles. I’ve only claimed about a tenner back in expenses, but that’s because I’ve only done two work trips and get 4ppm.

When we got ours (mid/late 2019) prices were almost identical. The difference today is £10k for a cash purchase or £300+ a month on a 3 year lease.

In my salary sacrifice deal, taken out this time last year, the difference was £100 per month on a 3 year deal. Hence choosing the Performance.

I agree although Gangs car has held its value well which is relatively unsual in car ownership terms, and that was before the recent hikes in used cars, although helped by Tesla jacking the price up of the entry level MX and now you can't even buy a new one..

I think he calls it "Triggers Tesla" though as most of it has been replaced over the years
