So had an interesting experience today.

Just where I work there was a electric car event. There was a line up of most models that are available to buy in the UK plus a couple that weren't.

So there was a selection of hybrids (I don't get the point as they can only do 20-40 miles max on their batteries. These where VW, BMW, Hyundai, Mercedes. Nothing exciting to see here.

Then we have full EV. A new merc that was alright, and the e-tron. Then an MG, and a real interesting Honda E, very nice lots of interesting features. A car I can't remember, not for sale in UK so no isssues and then a Model 3.

All i can say is wow I now want one for sure. I have never had time to sit in one and have a good mess with all the controls etc.

What really struck me was how the Tesla was so far ahead when compared to the others. All the others are just another Audi or Merc etc with batteries. But the tesla is just amazing with its central control screen, the fact the vents are hidden is amazing and just what a car should be like for me. The features the range the cost are way ahead of anything else that was there.

So I'm off to spec a model 3 and see how much money is in my piggy bank.

As has been said the ownership process could and would change my opinion.

But for me why by just a normal car thats got some cells in it for alot of money when I could get a Tesla. As an example the merc on display was 80k, but was just a merc.

I understand that hybrids are a good option for some but don't see the point when its only doing 20 miles.

My drive to work is 3 miles, I think a plug-in hybrid could work for this.
Shocking that you bother driving that far.
