What's not covered
Toyota’s standard vehicle warranty does not cover: neglect, abuse or misuse. The use of non-approved performance enhancements and modifications would not represent a manufacturing defect and would not be supported under the terms of your Warranty.

Contact your local dealer for more information on Toyota warranties.
It was more of an in joke. The Facebook group and forums have been full of "If I put an exhaust on will it invalidate my warranty" type questions.

Hmm. Looking at what you've posted there, that does not reflect the numbers we were given. I will go back and query this with Toyota.
You can get a quote direct from here: after submitting your details (prior to any payment) you’ll get a text and email with the quote. If you want it discuss with your dealer instead of paying online it might be worth having a copy of what you think it is.
We had the numbers from two different dealers so it seemed unlikely they both made a mistake, but it's not impossible. I'll look into it in detail tomorrow. I need to confirm the service history on one of the cars as one potential error is in the different service options specified.
Car 1. Incorrect service schedule quoted, plus an additional MOT which wasn't required.
Car 2. Service schedule more accurate (some assumed mileage discrepancy), but MOTs (which aren't required) were included in the quote.

Thanks for flagging this, we're now seeing numbers more in line with what you suggested.

ETA. Dealer I just spoke to didn't even know about the incoming price increases.

Thanks for the heads-up about the warranty plan...I'll look into that.

Porsche...mine went in for its big service and warranty renewal, the car was ok but they said the warranty couldn't be renewed as the radio didn't work, £195 to investigate the issue, I took it home checked the fuses 75p for two fuses and the radio was working again...words was had as to why a £1200 service was carried out and basic things wasn't checked.

They are all at it...to make as much money as possible, at one time some of them actually cared about looking after your car.

Yes has isofix in the back but you would likely need to load the seat in from the boot, rear access for sorting children is restricted. And yes selectable passenger airbag.
I got our Cybex in through the passenger door. I've since moved it behind the driver seat (LHD) as my wife's knees were hitting the glove box laugh

Correct, and that's why it's called a safety check, not a service.
Exactly,

There seems to be so much word play at work which is extremely frustrating as a customer. But then this subject is right up there with, if I modify my car will it invalidate the warranty.
Optional according to my dealer and no bearing on the warranty. They said they would only recommend it if the car had hard use. The service interval is only 1yr/6K miles anyway.

That is dedication how do you get in the back holding a baby and strap them in without serious rib and spine damage lol

Is the warranty agreement with your dealer or Toyota GB?

Without checking I'd say Toyota GB as the car was ordered online and delivery merely facilitated by a local dealer. A different dealership is doing the servicing under a service plan.

I wasn't aware any main new car warranty could be with anyone other than the manufacturer.

With price inflation running at 10% and wage inflation probably higher, the year 2 and year 3 menu service costs are very unlikely to go down. I've taken up the service plan in this basis.

Quite. So I'm wondering why you'd take your dealer's word for it, rather than the company with whom you actually have the warranty agreement? If Toyota don't cover something under the warranty is the dealer going to cover it?

Toyota GB said:
The GR Yaris is subject to a ‘Safety Check’ every six months. As of 2022, this costs £50, unless it coincides with the car’s service, in which case there’s no extra cost.

This would be part of the warranty T&C's and may affect your warranty if the safety check is not completed.
That's a copy and paste of an email received from Toyota last week.

Got a copy of the safety check, checklist?

It states may, from memory items they check are like car mats so I guess if I don’t get the check done I can’t claim for my car mats.

Found a copy:

£75 to check tyre depth (something you won’t get on warranty anyway) plus a visual check of a few bits.

I’ll stress again we are the only country in the world with this check.

Not sure why it's relevant.

It's in their' T&C's.

There’s no mention of the safety check in the T&C’s. The key line though is this: “By keeping to their vehicle’s recommended service schedule“ a safety check is not part of a “service schedule”
