A 58% increase for the intermediate service is taking the pish...what extra are we getting for our money, maybe they will actually take off the wheels and strip and clean the brakes, adjust something, perhaps give a belt a tweak or two...fantasy land I know but you can dream.

The way inflation is going, the second and third year might turn out to be a bargain.

I toyed with the idea of a separate thread, but that’s verboten so……

I test drove a GR Yaris circuit today.

Very impressive. I get it, and the seat height and mirror position didn’t even bother me as well. Very quick and fun when pressing on in the twisties.

Just for fun, I know this is a personal preference, but I’m thinking about the following instead. And no, they are not directly comparable (and they’re all VAG) but in a similar price bracket:

B8 RS4
S1 Competition
Golf R 8

The S1 in particular, whilst I know it will be a blunter machine, is a lot of car for sub 20k…..

I have a GR Yaris Circuit now but I owned a B8.5 RS4 from new from 2014-2017. They’re brilliant cars but the running costs are in a different league to the GRY. Mine chewed up its gearbox at 14k, it was covered under warranty but had it not been that’s got to be nudging a 5 figure job. I had a B8 RS5 for 2 years before that, essentially the same car and that thing had a couple of faults including an alternator regulator issue and leaking diffs. Not a problem for me as they were all warranty work but again expensive jobs outside warranty. Then there’s the servicing and fuel costs…I don’t want to say don’t do it but go in with your eyes open. And make sure if you do get one you get it in sepang blue, it’s bloody beautiful.

Anyone else with phone problems recently? I'm using a pixel 6 and for the last couple of weeks it's being a bugger to end calls. Not sure if it's a Toyota update or a Google update but something definately amiss!

Same phone here, had a few situations where a call has finished and it's not registered the fact on the display, I'm using a carsifi adapter and had to unplug that to get it to reboot, figured it was the adapter rather than the car though.

It’s a recent phone update that’s causing the issues I believe from reading elsewhere.

In other news did 2 long journeys yesterday in mine first 120miles got 45.6mpg next 100 miles at 40.5mpg in a fully loaded car, obviously was very boring motorway driving but quite impressed. Normal driving will resume shortly.

Oh phone issues, for a while myself and my friend (also has a GR and a Pixel 6 Pro) phone would always drop Bluetooth connection, like it would forget the car on a regular basis. I think it still does.

I put it more down to the phone, or software version than the car. As I didn't have these issues for about a year and they just started to happen.

Test drove the GR (red CP) yesterday and am hugely impressed - on paper its as quick if not quicker than my old vantage and far more nimble.

Ive placed a deposit and hope to get it delivered next week - its got a private reg GR15 YAR - anyone on here know of its provenance?

Hey guys - any help greatly appreciated here.

So my GR has finally arrived at the dealer after about 18 months. I'd presumed the £300 per month/£0 deposit agreement would be valid as it was what I'd signed up for when I put the deposit down. When the dealer called and asked how I wanted to pay, I said the above, and he said, 'what £300 deal?' he then said he'd call back after looking into it.

He's just called back and said it'll be a £9k deposit!!

Has anyone got any advice here or any details of the original deal?

Think you were confused at the point of order, the advertised deal was around £8k deposit and £299 a month for the 2yr 0% one.

Did you not sign a finance document at the outset with the details of deposit and monthlies on it?

Basically the GFV is circa £18k after 2 years so you need to fund that £15k difference out of the deposit and monthlies over the 2 years.

I was wondering about the service plan - if prices are that high, would you not be better just paying services as you go, or can you literally just pay parts and labour?

As above....You've definitely got your wires crossed on this one, the 0 was the 0% finance, not the deposit.

(you can put £0 deposit in, but the monthly payments will shoot up obviously)

The service plan just locks in the cost of the services at the prices at the time, then you pay monthly. You can pay as you go, the cost is the same, you can also supply your own parts with many dealerships and pay labour.

What many of us did was take a service plan at the old prices, saving the money that way.

Yeah that definitely wasn’t the deal. You must have some paperwork/emails? I have an extensive record of things I’ve signed including the finance proposition.

£300/mth with £0 deposit would have the GFV at well over £25k which is ridiculously high. A 2 year £0 deposit deal would be around £700 pcm at 0%.

If anyones after a GR Yaris available now speak to BarcelonaLewis rofl

On a serious note as has been stated by a dealer and numerous posters there wasn’t a 0 deposit £300pm offer.

I wonder if they do mortgages too, I could do with a £3m house, zero deposit and interest free….would it be £300pm?

I just had a look on Autotrader for the first time in a while...93 circuit pack cars for sale, that's a lot of metal up for grabs.

It would seen there are still a few chancers looking for high overs for them, prices ranging from £32,000 to over £40,000, still prices seem to be pretty rock steady which I'am sure will appeal to some.

The 0% with nothing down was £650 per month with 24 payments and residual around 18k.

My new one is currently sat at the dealer awaiting a 72 plate and now I have to decide if I want it but the price is now 35.5k plus. Yes I can have the 0% but is it worth it this time with so many for sale?

If anyone has a delivery and can register on a 72 plate (at the original price) I will buy it cash at the dealer with you and give you £X on top.........
