I'm waving farewell to mine on Thursday. Replacing it with an A110. Not because the Yaris isn't a great car, it really is, but purely because I can't afford to have both. Sad (and happy) days.
So I’ve had an A110 on the radar for a while and also thinking of the swap from Yaris. Would be interested in your thoughts when you get the car but also on why you’ve decided to swap.
I think I would've kept the Yaris long into the future had I not had the opportunity to buy an A110 at a healthy discount. We've had them at work for a while and have had the chance to take them out on occasion. They're a wonderful thing and only the price held me back. It's kind of ironic that my last full day of GR ownership has coincided with the first decent frost of the year. If it's this slippery tomorrow the drive home should be exciting.

Best picture I have taken to show the red.
As an OE numberplate are you not far from Oxford? If so where did you get the wheels painted? It's something I'm thinking of getting done at some point. Do you need to tell your insurance company?
In answer to the first question it is a powder coat job from a company called Oxmanor alloys near Kidlington airport, the colour is a satin finish from Lamborghini.

As far as insurance companies go I told them and they noted it but it made zero difference.

Looks to be a German only special edition due to Cologne being home to Gazoo Racing.

“Cologne. Toyota celebrates the title triple in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) with an exclusive special series of the GR Yaris (fuel consumption combined: 8.2 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 186 g/km. Values according to WLTP): The edition offered at prices of 42,490 euros combines the powerful 1.6-liter engine with the "High Performance" package, a customer-specific vehicle setup and a paintwork in the GR colors. Interested parties can apply online at www.toyota.de for one of the 300 copies.”

Great, thanks! I'll look to contact them in the new year.

I suspect so. As mentioned earlier finance prices are now high, wrong time of year for many to be buying a car and I suspect many on the waitlist having waited for 3 years have found something else to buy.

Perhaps with the talk of a new GRY+ in 2024 may be holding things back now as well.

There is pretty much no evidence for a new GRY next year whatsoever. The issue with the last cars is that the uplift in list price from launch, combined with the current APR rates has made them about £10k more expensive if you look at total payable. Plus as Robin has said, very few have been waiting 2 1/2 years+ without buying something else.

Will be interesting to see if they end up discounting them.
Still the odd private seller looking to get thousands above list, for registered delivery mile car.

Worst bit about my car is the gearbox. Hasn’t been right from day 1.

At 8 GR Yaris a day, you're going to be waiting a long time for one, facelift or not.

Doesn’t sound like it’s right? One of the best gearboxes I have used. I love it.

It’s quite well reported they’re either great or just a bit meh, quite a few gearbox changes in Australia but I don’t think any have happened in the UK. Notchy between 1-2-3 which I had adjusted which improved it but didn't clear it, Ive also had it pop out of gear twice and refuse to go into 2nd a few times. These issues have been reported by others also so its not an isolated case.

Have to agree - nice and mechanical and clunky. Quite old fashioned and it is a really good match with the engine. Nearly 30k miles on mine. I don't rush 2nd to 3rd though but the drivetrain is brilliant once it is warmed up.

I don't see the attraction of an auto at all - this would negate what is one of the best parts of the GR Yaris.

Ditto - which is why I was saddened by the news of going to an auto!

Out of interest what is the finance payments on a new one - has anyone got or had any quotes?
