Stop waiting for a phone call and call the number for the on line team. Mine arrived on 23rd August and should be at the dealer in the next couple of days
Yeah I rang this morning and the person dealing with my request has just come back off annual leave today so he should chase up loose ends. The lady I was talking too seems to think it is at the dealer already so shouldn't be too long. Once they get a reply back from the dealer they will request funds. Fingers crossed I will be able to collect this weekend.
I collected my Black GR86 this morning from Toyota Reading who lent on Toyota buy on line team to help make this possible for my collection this morning. My advise is it could have been the September rush but the online team in my experience follow up once the car was paid for was poor. So chase them on the phone.
Collected mine this morning (Steven Eagell Chelmsford). Only took one picture (at the dealer) as I had to get back to work and couldn’t faff about for ages.
Having my detailing guy go over it and add a ceramic coat tomorrow so will grab more pics then, but it just looks like all the others anyway.
Handover was kinda a non-event but that suited me. Haven’t had a chance to go through the documentation yet so not sure what’s included. They did give me a nice technical drawing sheet of the car though, which was appreciated.
I’m really pleased with the white paint I chose - it’s really quite a creamy shade and not like the super bright white that most cars are nowadays. Different and I very much like it! Had the dealer fit the duck tail spoiler before collection too as to my eyes it looks great - love that you can see it in the rear view mirror too.
Have only driven it very briefly but can already tell it’s very good. 1000 miles of running in will be a fine test of restraint.![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Indeed, the buy online experience for me wasn’t great. Lots of chasing and disjointed communication, plus one of the links they sent out to sign documents didn’t work - that took five days of promises to return emails/calls not materialising. Hard work!Car is phenomenal though, so it’s worth it.

Yeah if it wasn't for the suggestion to ring them I would have been waiting maybe another couple of weeks. Car is phenomenal though, so it’s worth it.
I rang yesterday morning and my car went from Derby to Dealer to needs a couple of days to be checked. Followed by an email to pay the outstanding balance. Paid up this morning so hopefully will be able to collect this weekend.
Weather will be beautiful so might do a trip to the seaside for a couple of ice creams with the kids.
Congrats to everyone picking up their new GR86 recently. Happy motoring.
I picked my Magnetite Grey 6MT this morning from my local Toyota centre.
the team did an excellent job of presenting it with the full reveal in the handover bay with the black cover being pulled away to show a darker grey metallic than what I remember it when partly covered in white protection film. The car was spotless and looked absolutely fantastic.
My Toyota sales specialist did an excellent and thorough job of the handover and is clearly an enthusiast driving a GR Supra himself. Thanks to that man it was a really good experience after months and months of anticipation
he warned me plenty of people will be asking about the car and fair enough, got quizzed as to what model it is when I went to fill up and lots of attention on the way home.
So what do I think? Love the looks, colour, simplicity of the interior. The tail pipes look comically large for such a small car
exhaust tone is fine for me. Yes the car is raw but not as uncouth as I was expecting after what I have read. It's OK and it's very well planted and chuckable and feels.as though it will have plenty of get up and go once run in. Corners beautifully and feels lithe and alive compared to my M240.
As everyone has said, the clutch is definitely snatchy and will take a bit of getting used to. Fast takeoffs it's ok when you are trying a bit but taking it easy and tootling about can be a bit difficult to get a smooth pickup with the clutch.. I need to spend some time with it before final judgement but I'm surprised it's so awkward? Sensitive throttle doesn't help I suppose?
Anyhow, it's a nice thing and I'm looking forward to enjoying the car and it's involving nature.
Off to digest the owners manual now ready for tomorrow's playtime.

Glad I’m not the only one finding the drivetrain sometimes difficult to work with - I think it’s the hyper sensitive throttle response causing most of it. As said above, when you’re pressing on it all comes together, it’s just driving in a more chilled out manner requires finesse to do so smoothly.
There’s a thread on GR ZOO about adjusting the bite point of the clutch pedal; I might give this a go tomorrow to see if it helps.

Okay, what's the trick to paying?
I've got the email and I go to my account but... no apparent route to pay, download an invoice or anything similar. Anyone?
Request the bank transfer details from Toyota Buy Online - they should send you an email with the details.I've got the email and I go to my account but... no apparent route to pay, download an invoice or anything similar. Anyone?
