There are a few deliveries still being made
Deliveries or just cancelled orders waiting for homes? I took delivery of mine in november and the dealer said there were 12 cancelled pre-orders left but that was about it.Throttle Body said:
If there are any cancelled orders out there, where would I look to find them? Would a main stealership be able to track them down if there are any? I'm thinking I might snaffle one, if available, rather than buy a used one.
I don't know I'm afraid, this was 6 months ago. There are half a dozen sub 100 mile cars on autotrader but they are asking at 2-5k over list. Which is very optimistic given the new one is only a few k more. I'm not a fan of the styling of the front or interior but can't deny it seems a mechanical improvement BevR said:

I guess they’re playing on the fact many people can’t get a mk2. Throttle Body said:

The Mk1 is a good option based on my experience. I bought an unmarked 72 plate with 200 miles on it a year ago for £36k. The new ones were listed at £40k at the time. No regrets. Nice to have a virtually new GR which has been great fun. Definitely not swapping it for the Mk2 as the difference in performance for a road car is minimal and I don’t like the new dash. I’d give a few dealers a call and see what you can flush out.

The value is an immaculate Mk1 with 5K miles or less for around £31K. Of course an unused Mk1 at list would be great but they're not available.
I assume thats retail price so high 20s trade in? No plans to get out of mine, just curious. Taking mine for a trip round the north coast of Ireland in a few weeks, really looking forward to it.

Donegal rally is 3rd week of June. Went last year but hired debating driving over in mine this year. Taking mine for a trip round the north coast of Ireland in a few weeks, really looking forward to it.

Yes retail price, so probably fair to assume they'd buy in at high twenties for an equivalent car.Taking mine for a trip round the north coast of Ireland in a few weeks, really looking forward to it.

Ballot open…
46k and 8.9% is a very different proposition to first time around….
Not sure it’s worth it this time
The total cost over three years if you pay the baloon at the end would be £52k for the manual. 46k and 8.9% is a very different proposition to first time around….

The configurator is live on the Toyota Ireland website and you dont get the option of forged wheels this time round. Only options are gearbox and colour. Does anyone know if Ireland had the same options as the UK for the Mk1?
Nice video from Matt at CarWow comparing all the GR models.
Interesting that he says more Gen 2’s will be made but far less Gen 1 numbers will arrive in the UK. The main reason for developing the Gen 2 seems to be the auto market in Japan.
As for comparing the Gen 1 performance against the Gen 2, it cemented my opinion that the difference isn’t worth the best part of £20k to swap from a used Gen 1.
I’m also unsure if any GR, even the specials, will be a good investment.
