Went to the Welsh Mountains today for a spin. First true test of the car for me on the roads I know well and the car is superb. Short of my niggly issues (which now I also have to add terrible squealing brakes at low speed) the car on the twistys is like nothing I’ve driven before.
Had a picnic and opened the engine cover to see if it was lose on my rattle hunt lol
Truly superb!
The Welsh hills are definitely the place to enjoy the car, I will be heading over to the Welsh Coast as soon as we are allowed over the border.Had a picnic and opened the engine cover to see if it was lose on my rattle hunt lol

If anyone is interested in a cherished number plate the current DVLA timed auction has A110LGT listed.
Quite apt for a lightweight car.
Oh just seen this. I was bidding for my Legende GT but stopped at 550. Not worth that much for me. Someone has a fairly hefty max bid on it I thinkQuite apt for a lightweight car.

There’s a gorgeous yellow A110S at Alpine Manchester. It looks so good in yellow, just not sure I can justify the price!
Nor could I, the thick end of 70K is too much. I come from Caterhams and they are way to expensive new for what they are. That said the entry gate for a used one is still 43k (for a 3 year old multi owner one at a dealer not exactly convenient). They really are holding up well and I guess the higher new prices will perpetuate that. I might test mine in a month or so and see what happens..

Glad to see I have helped in the massive 42% increase in Alpine sales comparing March 2020 to 2021.
If this carries on I might see another one on the road! (Actually highly unlikely, only 42 sold so far this year).
Pleased to be in the enlightened minority.
Me too. Feel like I'm doing my bit to keep Alpine in business. Cars like this only exist if enough people buy them new. But I like the fact that 'enough' isn't too many which keeps them special and residuals high. If this carries on I might see another one on the road! (Actually highly unlikely, only 42 sold so far this year).

I don't think anyone can complain about residuals, given those cars were closer to £50k new.
Has anyone actually tried trading one yet though? Fair enough the second hand asking prices are still decent. Whether they are being achieved and what the original punter gets are two different things of course.OK so I chose a car off autotrader - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103049...
And put it through three of the "buy any car" websites to gain an idea of what the original punter may have been paid
Best price came back from We Buy Any Car at £37000

My planned epic 56-mile road trip turned - thanks to closed roads and traffic in Farnham - into a near-legendary 57 miles.
All of which I enjoyed. I've used nearly a whole tank of fuel since 2019 now!
Blimey, we might have been in the same queue! Went via Farnham to get onto the A3 to go through the Hindhead tunnel - was hoping to blast it but no luck with too much traffic. All of which I enjoyed. I've used nearly a whole tank of fuel since 2019 now!
Nearly got to the magic 650 miles and can then give it some revs.
Looked like it was snarled up past the station - not unusual, but it's not usually that bad. Next roundabout down towards Alice Holt looked similar so I kept going a while. I think that was around 12:30-1pm.
I thought it was 1000 miles - is it 1000km then? If so I'm past halfway.
Someone today asked what the fastest I'd been in it was, and seemed surprised when I said "about 73". He seemed happier when I said I'd done about 124 in another one at Piste Bleue.
