I thought it was 1000 miles - is it 1000km then? If so I'm past halfway.

Someone today asked what the fastest I'd been in it was, and seemed surprised when I said "about 73". He seemed happier when I said I'd done about 124 in another one at Piste Bleue.
My handbook says for first 620 miles (1000km) revs below 3,500 or below 81mph.
Up to 1860 miles (3,000 km) avoid 'sporty driving'. What does that actually mean?!

Mine should be delivered end of August or early September. My plan is to clear the running in over a weekend with a round trip to Goodwood Revival - over 1000 mile round trip for me once a little bit of local running around is done down there. None of this messing about lol.

No drifting on purpose?

Excellent. I'm well past halfway. Time for another lap of the Hampshire Triangle at the weekend. I do need some cherry tomatoes for breakfast on Saturday.

Who really knows? Keeping below 5k you can go pretty damn quick. Personally over 1000k I just increased the revs I allowed myself by 500 or so for each 200 or 300k until 3000k. No real ideal whether that is right or wrong - but I am old and there was a time when running in really did matter.

I remember seeing cars with "Running in Please Pass" stickers in their back windows back in the 70's.

I wonder if demo models are treated with such care when they are first used? I doubt it. I visited a dealer (I won't say which one) back in the Summer.
There was a thunder grey S outside and the salesman said would I like to hear the sports exhaust?

So, stone cold engine is started & after a few moments revved to the max. I cringed yikes

I drove mine like a saint for the first 600 miles and since then have increased the revs. It's on about 1000 miles now and I'm using it like any other car - feels properly exciting when you rev it through the gears. I'm assuming sporty driving means track use. This car was so tight when I got it, much tighter than any other new car I've had so I suspect the running in could be quite important.

Has anyone actually tried trading one yet though? Fair enough the second hand asking prices are still decent. Whether they are being achieved and what the original punter gets are two different things of course.

OK so I chose a car off autotrader - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202103049...

And put it through three of the "buy any car" websites to gain an idea of what the original punter may have been paid

Best price came back from We Buy Any Car at £37000

True, but it's the same with most cars. I bought a used SQ7 last month from dealer and it was a lot more than the WBAC value, but less than anything else comparable for sale! I also got more a decent amount for my Q7 trade in than Autotrader valuation.

I think you have probably found the worst case scenario. Mine is 44k on WBAC, 70 plate Legende on 2,500 miles. List was 54k. I expect reality is 49k retail, 47k private if such a sale would succeed.
I only paid 50k for it so if I could get 47k now after 6 months I'd take it and order another.

My point is I didn’t think it was too bad.

I put my 2019 Pure into WBAC and was offered £39k. £39.6k from Autotrader valuations.

I think I'll keep it.

I can’t imagine selling the Alpine... though in fairness I did say that about the XK Convertible

But then I drove an A110... biggrin

No plans to sell mine either - I'll keep it until we've run out of petrol, booze, or the blood of my enemies, and there's nothing left to run it on.

Having driven the only car I was interested in at the moment (the GR Yaris), there is nothing at the moment that I would consider swapping the A110 for. Perhaps the new Lotus might be of interest - but it would have to be damn good. Might "upgrade" to a revised A110 if they bring one out with significant functional improvements, but I'm not holding my breath.

I must admit the only other car I thought about was Yaris GR but love my Alpine. Would be interested to hear comparisons from those that have driven both (I've read earlier comments).

I drove both...Alpine is way more special and more fun to drive; for my driving taste. Price is a big difference of course, but my preference would be 100% the A110. For me the GR Yaris felt nice with massive amount of grip and it is fun...but not that fun and certainly not as playfull as a A110. For me the GR missed some pure accelerating power, the brakes felt to soft for my taste and steering feel was not that massive. But the grip and corner speeds are insane. The GR is a nice car but not something I would keep for a long time, like the A110. I know an owner who owns both (and more cars). He would never trade his A110 for a GR...if one of those two needed to go; it would be the GR.

I've got a Yaris coming in November for next winter, will be a good seasonal pairing with A110 I think!

I was seriously considering getting one as well as the A110. Couldn't quite justify both to myself but I think the GB270 wagon will be a good complement and half the cost of the little Yaris

100% - love a Subaru wagon!

A WRX a few years back was the first time I realised what fun could be had in a rally rep on winter tyres...

Had a place in the queue for the GR whilst I shopped for a used A110, just in case I was blown away. Test drive of the GR within the same week as my second go in the A110 confirmed a preference for the A110.

GR felt good though and I recon a v interesting pairing if you can afford both smile as a ‘package’ £33.5k, 100k 5 year warranty and 0% over 2 years was pretty compelling for such a properly focussed little 4wd rocket !! After a Caterham, an ND and an 86 the only bit we really didn’t like was the driving position... unfair to compare with ground up sports cars I know but just struggled with it.
