“Peak car” about sums it up. We just have a Seat Ateca at the moment. It’s comfortable for 5 so we can get ourselves and son’s family in it (with the one granddaughter).

Adding the Alp will give us the fun weekend car, and allow me to do the odd trip to the office without leaving Mrs Wb car-less. My commute is over the South Downs and onwards up to Wokingham/Bracknell. At least half of that is nice roads.

Really hoping these two cars will do us for a decade or more!

I sold my new gr86 to an Alpine owner who just got fed up with ongoing reliability gremlins.

It put me off buying one sadly.

I dunno really. try a gr yaris.

I did a track day yesterday with my GR Yaris in the rain and it passed everything else except for other GR yaris's. It was bone stock.

if you live in an area with rain and slippy technical roads, i can definitely see the usefulness of a narrow , lightweight 1280kg car with all weather traction AND height.

Its not bad in the dry but when it's wet with PS4S..........much better than rear drive with FULL wets

so i'd stick with the toyota GR twins or a cayman/ boxster if you need a convertible.

I must say a GR86 is one car that I would consider. I've tried a GR Yaris and that is now off my radar - but I must try a GR86 sometime. At 30k it was a steal - but you can't get one for that any more.

Welcome to the clan. It's only when you drive one you realise why it's a special car. Are you going standard, GT or S model?

Standard car. It seemed all you need

I think you are right; I went for a Legende spec (what is now the GT) a) because Mrs L found the adjustable seats more comfortable than the buckets (a subjective view!) and b) because the dealer had the car in the showroom ready to sell.

However, I would recommend the rear camera and sensor: whilst the 'Panavision' rear view looks very filmic in the mirror, it isn't the best for rear vision when parking...

TBH it’s a steal at £36k if that’s still the ‘overs’, it took me three extended test drives to convince me to upgrade the GT86 (slightly modded) to the A110. No regrets at all but there are several things the Toyota is still better at !!

The new M2 reviews have left embargo I've always thought the M2 was a possible "post A110" substitute especially in Manual.

The new one appears to be a complete beast.
But I don't think I could get on with that styling, especially the front end.

The last gen M2 CS just looks so much nicer!

I don't think it will grow on people the way the big grill M3 did for many.

Something about the way it bulges out around the black areas looks wrong to my eyes, like a balloon animal car.
