Seems like 2024 models will be announced next week

I’ll definitely want one if it’s 350hp
Surely then it will have an upgraded gearbox to handle the extra torque, as that's the current cars Achilles heal to more power. Presume better cooling also, hence the new bonnet. Hate to think the price of a retro-fit gearbox upgrade🥵.

I've spoken to our Alpine specialist and the model change in the OP isn't quite right unless we haven't been told, there is a tweak in options/prices coming but nothing seismic, for now.
Not sure there was anything seismic in my original post. I got that info from French fellow friends. Not entirely sure accurate.erics said:

Not entirely sure accurate. If there was an even more hard-core R to be announced before the end of the year that would be quite earth shaking for the Alpine world, but again it seems like in the short term it'll be an option tweak, with a 'grand finale' R in the long term similar to what is being talked about in the preceeding posts.
I heard that the carbon wheels on the R are to be replaced with alloys and the carbon wheels will be an option at £12k with the base price of an R being reduced (but not by £12k!!).
That might put some daylight between an R and an RS.
It does however defeat a key objective of the R. Not quite as "Radical" as originally intended.

That would be a good change IMO, the carbon wheels always struck me as a silly idea, especially given UK roads and the prospect of bouncing over track kerbs. That might put some daylight between an R and an RS.

Yep, it would just be strange for an RS to be cheaper than an R, or a GTS cheaper than a GT, going by traditional naming and costs. That might put some daylight between an R and an RS.

I understand the key take aways are:
S
GT
GTS
R
RS
no more base models, only 300bhp engines?
Suspect GTS will be GT with bucket seats, a bit like TDC and SR were?
Guess we’ll find out fairly soon
RS? I've heard that they are just testing performance parts.S

why are there still so few A110R out....

Apparently the RS will be a cheaper model sans carbon fibre wheels (12.5kg in unsprung weight) and perhaps other carbon bits?

There would have been one more R but my R was delivered with a paint defect so I have had to reject the car before collection. why are there still so few A110R out....

They pulled in their F1 drivers (Ocon) to test/PR the car, which seems unlikely just for parts testing.TX.

No longer a rumour it seems (as seen on FB) however it is just a regular R minus the carbon wheels. Called Tourini.
TX.
It is actually Alpine TURINITX.
As in Le Col de Turini behind Nice, in the South of France which has witnessed many a rally / stage of mainly the Monte Carlo Rally.
The name makes a lot of sense.
