I was asking earlier about attaching the rear license plate to my A110. This is how the end result looks like:

The original belgian plate holder is still there, it just has been modified. The plate holder is now screwed to the car and the plate itself is attached to the plate holder with Scotch Extreme Dual Lock tape.

I now have Finnish license plates for my A110 but the rear plate is too tall for the Belgian plate holder/frame which is on the car. I'm considering removing the plate holder and just screwing the plates directly to the car. Has anybody else done this? Any tips/advice?

Hi

I've just taken delivery of 22MY A110 and wanted to see if anyone else has same issue. When the stop start kicks in, the radio and screen power down and then reboot up. Asked the dealer but they've never heard of this problem. Anyone else had this issue? Other than this, it's living up to expectations!
Hello All,
I've been following the forum for a while and everyone's tips/advice have been very helpful during the test drive and ordering process so thank you.
I collected my 22MY A110 on Sunday and have been very impressed with the ride, even on potholed local roads.

However, one issue I have is the same as a few others such as Nick have reported, my infotainment screen powers off and reboots every time the stop/start activates, so the radio switches off momentarily. The OTA update hasn't fixed it. I realise I can disable the stop start manually but it appears to be a fault as it's doesn't seem to be widely reported.

A question I have is: should the info screen switch on with the ignition or when the engine starts? When I drove the 21MY demonstrator I thought the Alpine spin screen was on without the engine running but perhaps I imagined it? I'd be grateful to know your experience please. The info screen reboot isn't a showstopper but is a pain.

thank you
John

I have a 2022 A110 and I haven't encountered this issue. I have driven a little over 5,000 km with the car now. I use sport mode 95 % of the time which turns the stop/start off. However on those few occasions when stop/start has activated itself I haven't had any issues.

The only issue with my car so far has also been infotainment related. I have Alpine telemetrics on my car and every time I try to open telemetrics screen I get a message prompting me to restart the car to finalize telemetrics configuration. Usually the message disappears after a while but sometimes I have to reboot the multimedia to get rid of the message and get telemetrics up and running. Definitely a bug there. Has anybody else had similar problem?

At least on my A110 the infotainment screen switches on already when the ignition is on.

I have a crack in my windscreen and Autoglass want to put a non-Alpine one in it.

It's only 6 months old. Can anyone recommend the best course of action? Is it a dealer job?

If it's the "usual" crack in the bottom corner which Alpine have considered a warranty item to date, I'd consult Alpine and see if they would do the replacement - I can't see them wanting a non-Alpine part to be used.

When you say non-Alpine what do you mean? The cars are not built in big enough numbers for there to be pattern glass surely? Who is the screen made by that they are suggesting they use?

I'm not sure, it was just Autoglass who told me it wasn't an original Alpine windscreen.

It isn't in the bottom corner, sort of middle to the side.

Anyone got a Emerald Green A110 and pictures of it ? Thinking of ending prematurely my white Pure’s lease and going bonkers with a S2 in Atelier paint with carbon roof and carbon aero kit.

Seems like you UK guys chose the Emerald Green more often than in France since I can’t find a lot of pictures on our French forums.

There are a few from Alex on the photos thread - and I'm sure he can provide more!

Tbh all my photos are there on that thread, and on my Instagram @LeglessGarage

Would highly recommend it, it's my joint favourite colour alongside Sierra Blue. I believe there's three (possibly four) on the road in the UK, and one in dealer stock (that might be about to be bought by a friend of mine).

Thanks very much Portti, that's the behaviour I recall from the test drives and what would be expected.

If anyone else can confirm the 'standard' behaviour ie Info screen on with ign on, not with engine start, would be appreciated so I have a little more ammunition when talking to dealer. thanks

Mine turns the system on with the start button, whether or not the engine has started.

Hi All

I don't (yet) have an A110, but have been reading this thread with great interest. I swapped from a M100 Elan (owned for over 25 years) to a Cayman (987.2) three years ago. Although I enjoy the Cayman, which suits my "could be a daily driver" criteria, I find the noise somewhat intrusive on a long drive - particularly with the other half in the passenger seat, so have not yet attempted a tour, which was also part of the purchase equation. Dare I suggest a slight lack of "soul" as well?

So I would be very interested to hear the experience of anyone on here has moved from a Cayman to A110. Downsides to the A110 (apart from the entry price, esp. used) seem to be a lack of luggage space and a less than brilliant info system - I don't find the Cayman's system great, so not too worried there - and perhaps a little less durable than the Cayman.

Upsides, you will all know, are the lightness/handling, comfort, lower running costs and from what I have read, a massive feel-good from every drive. I also like the rarity value - though I don't see too many Caymans either. I am thinking a Pure and not likely to track it.

Any thoughts gratefully received, thank you.

A few have moved from a Cayman to an A110 myself included albeit via an Elise.

My opinion is the Cayman has better luggage space, has a better quality of interior materials and more interior storage space.

The A110 is more engaging, more fun at all speeds, has better suited gearing is more refined and just feels special due to the bespoke nature of the lightweight design. The luggage space whilst not as good as the Cayman is still good and perfectly adequate for touring. It's also more economical, cheaper to service and will be as strong as the Porsche re depreciation.

I wouldn't buy another Cayman while the A110 exists as for me it does more of what I want.

If you want a quieter cabin in a sport exhaust system A110 look here!
I prefer a quieter cabin and this is such a simple and effective mod........

I think the biggest issue with noise in a Cayman is tyre roar?

Was at St Albans for my RS Megane Turbo recall (the tube splits and "throws oil over the engine") had a nose in the Alpine showroom, there was one Green outside, two Blue and one White although their website only has the second hand Blue for pics.

Vert Cendre (ash green) goes really well with the carbon roof too: https://www.autogespot.nl/alpine-a110-gt-2022/2022...
