I am 5'9" and my bucket seats are set to what I think is the middle height level from the dealer. I only realised after about 500 miles of driving that I cannot see any of the car beyond the top of the windscreen wiper. This probably reveals something not great about me as a driver. However, what I have noticed as this has not once been a problem; I have parking sensors and also it seems quite easy to intuit where the front of the car is. Does anyone else have this, or something similar, experience? I don't want to raise the seat height, I am currently feeling at one with the car and do not want to change anything that could mess it up.
I was taught to set up seat height so that you are looking through the middle of windscreen - at 5'8" with adjustable comfort seats, I can see top of the wipers and no bonnet - just a perfect forward view.
Sounds like you have got it just right - don't change it! Like you I find it a perfect driving position.

It's 12 months for me, & it's the A pillar on the diver's side that drives me mad. It's huge & it's in my way. It spoils every roundabout. Why did it have to go there? A wrap around screen, more like the original A110, which would give a more upright A-pillar that would be further back from the front of the car would have been a much better design.

2nd most annoying thing: it's the steering that gives no clues about what the front tyres are doing.
I have never even thought about the A pillar - driver forward vision for me is great. Just jumped into the car to check what might be the issue - do you sit very close to the steering wheel. Only by sitting very forward do I think there might (?) be a problem.

For the steering play with tyre pressures - assuming no issue with the geometry. I run mine somewhere between the maximum and minimum and have found the perfect sweet spot for myself. The car does seem sensitive to this and the lower pressure is not always the better!

Yes, I sit closer than most because I like to have bent arms for full control of the steering. I'd prefer it if the steering wheel could be brought a little further back, away from the pedals, but I'm not going to moan, because the Alpine is better than most for steering wheel reach & driving position.

Echo above - 5'9" & buckets - view seems very familiar - old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it

Is there a way to switch the headlights from UK to Euro spec? I'm off on a Euro road trip next month and wondering if I need deflectors or I can do it automatically.

You need deflectors unfortunately.

As I understand it you don’t need deflectors as the headlights are set for both UK and European driving.

Yes, that's what I've been told as the beam is flat and not directional

Hmm, it's anecdotal but I once forgot mine and my mate who was driving in front of me told me I was blinding everyone on the other side of the road without realising.

Which deflectors have you used and where did you place them?

I was at the Spa Classic last weekend and several UK registered A110's were there, including doing some of the circuit laps. Anyone from here? I wasn't in mine, but good to see them being used. Great weekend though.

I do love these debates. UK drivers on the continent mostly try to deal with the issue and risk getting pulled over when we don't but in the UK every bugger ignores it entirely and blinds everyone with utter impunity.

I have to admit the bucket seats absolutely transform the car to the next level, speaking as someone who has had both.

The comfort seats are pretty terrible and you aren’t experiencing the full chassis of the car if your butt isn’t fixed in place like the buckets do.

I managed to get my hands on a drivers side bucket seat for £1,500, so under half the price of one from factory and I drove it with just the drivers seat as a bucket and it transformed those summer B-road drives.

I’ve gone back to the comfort seats as my girlfriend doesn’t like the aesthetic of one tan and one black, but to me it was just like a racing car vibe. Now the bucket is just sat in my bedroom. I may use it as a seat for my sim or something as it is does look nice.
Hi! Sorry to resurrect your old post but was it easy to swap the seats ? I asked Orpington to quote, they made it sound as if it was a huge/impossible job to change from comfort to buckets ?

In other news, am on a Euro road trip and the car died on a mountain road yesterday (1st day!). “Engine Failure Hazard” and would turn over but not start up. Frustrating as I’ve been looking forward to this trip for ages.

It’s a 2022 car, so I suspect may be the fuel pump issue. Ambient temp was around 27° celcius, so not hugely hot. I don’t drive too aggressively, and don’t remember being above 4k rpm. Did notice the engine area seemed quite hot when it stopped, but guess that is to be expected.

The car was recovered last night to the nearest Alpine centre and I’m praying they can fix it, else I’m flying back to the UK. banghead

Sorry to hear.

I had the same issue 3 times before fuel pump replacement, conditions didn't matter.

Do you know what production month your car is?

Hey, nope it took the trim shop about 10mins to get them out.

Again it appears to be the facelift cars with the fuel pump issue.

I suspect because it is not OEM approved. I have had main dealers refuse to even install PPF on a new car before because it is not factory approved (although Orpington did get the PPF installed on my A110 for me)

Maybe it's related to the fact that the comfort seats have (I believe) electrical adjustment whereas the buckets do not
