I’d delete my sports exhaust, can’t bear the pops and whatever especially on the over run, makes feel like a right chav when it does those noises, fine when you’re a young kid but not an old git like me. irked

Life110 offer a service to map out the pops and bangs to the extent you wish.

https://life110.co.uk/collections/alpine-a110-tuni...

I usually leave the car in normal mode around towns and villages but currently love hearing the exhaust out on the open road, perhaps the novelty will wear off.

Before I bought mine I read lots of posts about the differences between the models, and tried to narrow down a list of 'must have' options. Eventually came to the conclusion that all the cars are more or less the same.
Seats seem to be a personal choice and I didn't like the comfort chairs, so buckets were really the only 'must have' for me. My car also has a sports exhaust & I too find the pops embarrassing

I too find the flatulence in sport OTT and will get it mapped out with the Life110 remap. A point to note is the sound actuator only comes with the sports exhaust. I actually like the enhancement of induction noise that it provides - so I think that if cost is no object, sports exhaust + (£200) remap is worth considering.

Agreed - I love the gurgling noise it makes at lower revs with a bit of throttle, and I think the resonator is responsible for that.

I love the pops and bangs but then again I am a 50 something big kid biggrin

To be fair though they are lot less embarrassing than the local Ford/Vauxhall/Audi etc cars with popping waste gates and LOUD pops and bangs.

I like that with the standard exhaust you only get the pops and bangs in Sports Mode.

Absolutely - I used to find it fidgety on motorways but after applying the Life110 geo settings it’s rock solid and very easy to drive long distances. Like you I mostly avoid motorways, just because they are so boring - a waste of expensive fuel!!

Mine’s a daily drive, just coming up to 3 yrs / 26,000 miles and I’m still totally in love with it and the whole ownership experience (failed fuel pump aside!).

2020 Legende, with the *proper* wheels, Life110 geo, 300ps map, paddles and carbon spoiler, brown leather interior with comfort seats.

Hi Domrusty,

I was wondering if you've ever had the chance to drive and to compare your Life110 tuned car to a current GT spec model? I'm curious to get an idea of how they compare.

I have the active sports exhaust and it also only crackles in Sport or Track mode.

In Normal mode the only exhaust sound I hear is a gurgle from the sound pipe behind the passenger seat (RHD). I do wonder how all of this sounds from outside the car?

My previous car had an Akrapovic Evolution exhaust system, it sounded incredible but being able to tone it down is most welcome. I also wonder why Akrapovic passed on the A110 when they usually make a system for every Renault Sport car, often even as a factory option.

Good afternoon
I have just registered and the correct thing to do when entering a new site is to say hello, so I think this is the right place. Hello everybody, I'm from Spain, and since January this year I have an Alpine A110 S. I found the forum "by chance" after a lot of searching, because in my country there is no "official site" and, inexplicably, there is very little information about this car. I see that you have a lot of posts on the forum so I will keep up to date with all the information you have shared.
Thanks to those of you who make this sub-forum possible so that all this information doesn't get lost.

I’ve not driven the current GT with the extra power, though I did test-drive the Legende and S back-to-back before choosing the Legende for its softer suspension (noticeably more forgiving over bumps I thought)…

I can’t fault the Life110 map - it’s just so silky smooth. There is more grunt, but mostly over 3,500 rpm, so it hasn’t changed the very civilised nature of the car in general use but picks up really quickly when pressing on. I can’t entirely remember what it used to be like, but I’m very happy with the map upgrade.

My biggest ‘regret’ is having waited 18 months before trying Manual mode - which I now use everywhere. The Auto box is good but the extra control of choosing when to shift up just adds to the feeling of involvement and connection with the car.

I have wondered the same, was sure they’d make one but, seems not!

Have you tried track mode yet?

It's unreal, the shifts actually give you a kick in the back and the car just comes alive. Most of my spirited driving is done in track mode now.

With ref to the map have you noticed / is there any noticeable increase in temps when ‘pressing on’ for extended periods ? I quite fancy trying it and I know David tracks his car seemingly without issues but wanted to understand if there are any downsides to the extra grunt ? It sounds like additional clutch slip (if there ever was any ?) has been ironed out via torque management low down in the rev range.

Cheers.

Anyone with the comfort seats had any issues with creaking? My 2018 Legende creaks whenever cornering have tried to take the plastic cover off but can’t see anything to lubricate/grease to stop it!

I had this issue.

It was the plastic cover on the side of the seat. The dealer lubricated it for me and never had the issue again.

One thing I've noticed about these cars is that because they are small and low down we tend to fall in to them and use the side bolster as our landing pad, then rotate in to position.

This puts a lot of pressure on to the frame of the seat eventually causing squeaks etc
